Well, its possible for Naruto is Ashura and Sasuke is Indra, and If Ashura=Indra is true, and Naruto=sasuke is (assumed) to be true, then Naruto=Indra and Sasuke=Ashura, but this is NV and we have seen that the A>B and B>C does not in anyway mean A>C. So no we are not saying that Naruto is > Indra. But that doesnt mean it cant be true, because besides seeing Indras Sasunoo and Ashuras "version" of something like Sasunoo we know nothing about them, only that they have constantly reincarnated them selves throughout history in a never ending war.

Also. I think people dont understand what the sage told naruto. He said that the two spirits have "reincarnated" generation after generation, possibily skipping generations, cuz for the sake of simplicity if Madara and Hashirama were Gen 1, then that means Hiruzen is Gen 2, Minato is Gen 3, and Naruto is gen 4. Madara and Hashirama died b4 minato was Born, so it could have reincarnated into Gen 3, but didnt and waited to gen 4, when naruto and sasuke were born. So i dont think people interpretation of the conversation is right. I think Naruto and Sasuke stand for ideals and not the literal people, cuz Madara and Hashirama never met the sage (well at least madara is basically confirmed to not have) why you say? Well because he has a bad interpretation of history, he knows the sage had 2 snos but doesnt know the sage had a brother, and i dont think he knows the age had 3 eyes or that kaguya had byakugan before she had sharingan or the 3rd eye. I think the sage only appeared to naruto and sasuke because of the imminent threat that madara (indras previous incarnation) had.

Not only do they have half of Hagoromo's power, they each got something that he had. Naruto got Senjutsu and Sasuke got the Rinnegan. Its pretty obvious that they are above the brothers.
