When i went to school, i was one of the very known/popular people soo i kept it sorta like a secret cus they think its childish and the females think its childish too thats why i just kept it to myself

to be honest my friends are moron they think anime & cartoon are same thing.

I'm 29 and I live with my girlfriend and son... she thinks it makes me a geek. Like the guys in the big bang theory who still read comics.

I do and im like the only one who likes it in my area too.
no one did either at my school or college and I did art courses in both!

Some of the coolest people I know watch anime and read manga. Lol
Of course their are people who like to laugh at it without giving it a chance, but I don't really mind it. I'm friends with both types of people.
Overall I've never had a problem with being made fun of for liking anime/manga. It's actually pretty popular.

Regardless of where you live or how old you get people who are ignorant are going to throw shit in your face about whatever interest or hobby you have. Whether it be anime, sports, music or whatever but if you actually think about it all hobbies are childish and useless in life so when someone makes fun of me for liking animation, cartoons, or wrestling I just jokingly explain how equally dumb their own life is by comparison this usually shuts people up.

Though it isn't something I go around announcing to every person I meet, I do, if someone asks about my interests, name anime/manga as one!
Don't know what that makes me amongst my friends as they don't really mention anything about it, heh, I've even shown a bunch of Ghibli movies to one of 'em and he loves them!
Btw, enter my room and you'd know, taking a gander, that I'm a fan!

I don't watch anime anymore.
Only top notch manga. Oh wait.. the only 2 anime i still follow now is kuroko no basket and hajime no ippo due to their new season being released.
I just tell ppl i read manga. Don't care for their opinion on it
