I´m from Austria and i´m quite proud of it
it is a quite small country but the quality of living is very good
politicians are bad everywhere it seems, but it could be much worse than now, compared to other countries in the EU it´s quite nice

I'm Mexican and I'm not proud of my country:
-It has a rotten-corrupted political system
-The major part of the population is lamely ignorant and alienated by the public tv (Telenovelas and such).
-The government's budget for education is risible.
-The laboral field is devastating....
-The oligarchs were born in the 40's by earning unbelievable amounts of money that came from peculation and hoarding of basic products....Aside the fact they're probably the most incompetent "business" men in Latin America....
And lots of things more I really hate bout MExico... Tho I love our culture

we do well at everything compared to everyone else per head (60 million people , team GB in the olympics got roughly 2/3 of the american gold medal total , considering that USA has nearly 7x as many people as just an example.)

I have no sense of nationalistic pride because I don't believe in invisible lines in the sand, if you get my meaning. This country is the richest and most powerful non factors in the world. All we do is bully smaller nations, steal their natural resources, then place dictatorial regimes in their lands and call it spreading democracy. Yeah it's great we have a black man as president but if that's the only thing we have to go on that's a very pitiful thing, wouldn't you agree?
I'm American, I know my country has had its share of atrocities and shameful actions and I know my country is corrupt. But in the end I'm proud to be an American.
As for my heritage, I'm Irish and Swedish. There isn't really anything much about Sweden but Ireland has a stereotype of its people being drunks. Aside from that yes I'm proud
I hate my country because of it's incredibly stupid leaders and citizens. Check this out. They take the ten commandments out of the schools, stop spanking children, try to take away freedom, allow homosexuals to not only live but be functioning members of society and then they sit back and wonder why the whole country is going to sh*t. ... ( -_-) Seriously? Like that wasn't f**king obvious? (-_- )
I still love it though for the same reason, everyone's so stupid, it's absolutely adorable how they think they know what they're doing. ^_^
Didn't know we had a member of the Westboro Baptist Church on the Base. Think about this, when prayer was in school, when children got spanked, and when homosexuals were outcast we had segregation, Jim Crowe ran the south, kids were still murdered, kids were still kidnapped, kids were still molested (especially in the Catholic Church without getting any national or media attention), homosexuals were murdered, blacks were strung up in trees for being black, I could go on for ever with this.
The ten commandments didn't do anything, prayer didn't do anything, and allowing homosexuals to " live like functioning members of society" (how would youhave them live you, hmmm?) didn't corrupt our society. Society has always been corrupt and will continue to be corrupt because people at their core are more often than not corrupt.
I'm very proud of my country, Colombia. It's in my opinion the best country to live in in the world. But it's probably because it's my home there and because I'm accostumed to the people, the music, the food, the language, and the culture. Colombia es pasión <3
I'm not a Dutch girl myself, but I also have to admit that I love the Netherlands, and I'm proud of this country who has been my home for so many years.

the 2010 World Cup was quite successful
Negative aspects:
corruption is rife in every aspect of government
education system is pathetic
our football team is just sad
Gee thats news to me... Canucks are cool.. I've been to alot of countries around the world and we ain't perfect and we've made mistakes but even though alot of the world hates America they envy us and wish they had what we do! The poorest Americans here have a higher std of living than the middle class in alot of places... not saying thats right or condoning the poor but its true. Do we have problems? Yeah look at the economy and the socialist idiot we re elected so we could give more handouts away! But in the end this is AMERICA mess with us at your own risk! Btw? How could you not like a country that brought you bitters and stout!!! Lol!
Why should I be proud? I had nothing to do with any of the accomplishments of my country - to be proud of something I had no involvement in is just downright stupid. Being proud of my country is like being proud of someone else's homework.
Belgian's don't have pride in their country xD we're just one big push-over chaotic country that has something that goes beyond modesty...the few things I'm proud of are probably Belgium comics like Tintin and our beer and chocolate. x) My dad told me the disk and audio cassette were invented by belgium scientists/engineers who worked for Philips...there are other importand Belgians in history, but I doubt a lot of people know them...
I agree we have no pride for our country. Though the beer is good...
But our greatest asset are the gigantic balls of steel (I know I said it before, but c'mon one who else can say this?)
