Exactly. For me it's about how women are treated in the workforce, not about relationships.

I like an old fashioned gentlemen who will hold the door for me, or if I'm asked on a date, pay for the meal or movie. If it's with guy friends, I will pay or we split, but not a bf. My family was taught to serve the men of the home too, so it's bred into me as well.

A humanist or equalist would be someone fighting for the rights of everyone a feminist is someone who fights for the rights of women, too many people here are getting caught up on the meaning of the word and not hearing her message, she is asking men and boys to support there Mothers, sisters, aunts, female friends, wives, girlfriends and daughters in creating and maintaining a balance of genders, free of harassment, inequality, violence and humiliation.

Emma Watson is trying to put across the true definition of the word feminist, though by the looks of most of the replies here her efforts have fallen on deaf ears.

Unfortunately the word feminism has a stigma to it because of bad or micky taking media and those members of the female community that are hypocrites and carry massive chips on there shoulder.

Personally I feel like, if a woman hits you she is acting like trash. It's a double standard to me. Just because you have a vagina doesn't give you the right to hit somebody. What comes around goes around. If you hit somebody, don't expect every male to bow down to you and do nothing. Hitting someone is just disrespectful regardless of gender. If women want to have special privileges against males, they shouldn't have equal pay or anything else. Women want the best of both worlds. You can't expect to get equal treatment in the work force, and get special treatment. Like wtf that's so bias and sexist.

I agree with you, but what I was raised into doing is stuck with me unfortunately. Only when it's family related tho. Luckily we don't have many gatherings. I used to have to serve all my uncle's and male cousins when I was a young teen.

Oh yeah I agree about who asks who out should pay, but for me, I never ask a guy out because I don't like dating. Lol and the door stuff is because all my female friends that are feminist in the bad way will actually snap at a guy if he holds the door. It's terrible. And I like a guy that does that for a lady because nowadays all you see are guys letting doors go in women's faces, while they hold it for other men. Men hitting women is not about equality, women are physically weaker, much easier hurt than men, have a lower pain threshold and most are completely unable to protect themselves against men efficiently. Saying it is OK for a man to hit a woman is like saying it is OK to hit an old person.

If a women hits a man in the jaw she is libal to give him a bruise if he hits her back he is libel to break her jaw, a man can control a woman with violence, take away her liberty, voice, freedom, happiness, how many men do you think a woman has ever controlled with violence? Very few. That is why it is not OK for a man to hit a women, most men are totally capable of restraining a women without hitting her, unless she is very strong or he is very weak.

However, it is not OK for a woman to hit a man either, it isn't OK for anyone to hit anyone but this is the explanation of why no man should ever hit a woman back unless she is literally trying to really hurt him, because women are much easier hurt and much physically weaker.

There is also a difference between gender equality, gender roles and differences between the sexes. For a woman to say it is sexist to be a housewife for instance is utter rot, most women have a natural drive to care for there husbands and boyfriends and children,however wanting to is not sexiest being expected to is, there are biological gender roles that will not change because they are genetic but they have no baring on equality.
