Are we all nerds?

I believe we are all "Otaku nerds" or "Naruto nerds" since we all read/ watch Naruto and/ or because we are all into Naruto/ anime/ manga so much. Well, I've been branded as a bozo, nerd, cool, gangstah, and believe or not a prep in my lifetime. I hangout with different groups of people. I love having conversations with different people and listening to them and their interesting stories.

Some people think that anime/ manga is nonsense, stupid, tacky, or childish because it's cartoons or a bunch of drawings with some dialogue. They think it is because they only look at the outside. They do not really know about it. They don't appreciate or won't appreciate it or may be they are just not interested.

I actually asked some of my friends why they dislike/ do not watch anime or read manga.

b1 = it is corny
b2 = I have better things to do
b3 = I'm not interested
g3 = I'm not interested

Actually my mom used to watch an anime back in the 70's, but she was never a nerd or lesser social class.

A thought: some Asian moms (at least in my country and in Korea) watch a lot of Korean soap opera. In the 90's Asian teens (at least in my country) watch a lot of MTV Asia-- should be the same as American teens watching MTV. So should Korean soap opera or MTV "generally accepted by those who are believed to be of a lesser "social class.""? What you guys think?

Loving anime/ manga should not be categorized as of lesser of different social class. Different people have different interests. Some people like to watch a lot of sports because they love the game and love to play the game. Some people love to watch soap operas because some people find the story interesting and some think that the story also relate to their own lives. Some people like to watch a lot of porn because of the crave they are having. We love to watch anime and read manga because we/ some of us would love to see Madara fight those two (I censored it).

I don't consider myself a nerd, I'm just one of the guys in my school that don't give a shit about anything. I used to be uptight and stressful, but then I realized that chilling is much funner. I just play basketball with my friends everyday. I'm well known, I guess, but I don't care about popularity. If I did I'd probably end up being a try hard, and I don't want to risk looking like a retard.

Liking anime/manga and keeping up on the stories doesn't make you a nerd, it's just a hobby. I wouldn't think badly of someone if they liked anime/manga, although some "cool people" might try to act badass and pick on manga lovers.

Tisk...Why are we defined by labels? Lol y'all are silly. But sometimes it's okay to play ignorant and play into the societies norms and labels. So I will. I am a nerd. I say that because the "Nerd Label" means someone into a lot of Pop media. Video games, anime, manga, etc. I love it. I grew up watching The U.S. Toonami for one which is where I discovered shit like DBZ and Sailor Moon and my all time favorite no one seems to remember much Outlaw Star ). I grasp the nerd label strongly all though I don't come across like it at all. I don't hide that I read manga. I am constantly playing Storm generations online and my girl gets pissed. So what? I read the manga bright and early in biology class lol. It actually attracts hot girls eyes to my laptop and engages convo. I hate it when people talk about the guys at school that still play yu-gi-oh..Like why? Why the hell do you care lol?? They are the loser in my eye..People don't think I am nerdy because they say: I don't look like I read manga. Sad..I didn't know I probably had to look Asian or White to read awesome Art & Lit with a cool ass story behind it. I love Naruto sooo much. I have Sasuke's curse mark tatted on my back..In my group of friends I am known as the cool as African guy with the hot ******* girlfriend that we all still hang out with lol.. I love busting out convos about Naruto around my anime hating friends and in-depth ones at that. I am the coolest nerd you could ever know.
