A nerd is someone who makes lots of money, has good friends, is really smart and knows lots of women. That's what a nerd is today. If you aren't a nerd then you must be a jock, and jocks grow up with back stabbing friends, no job, they aren't intelligent and women will have nothing to do with them because they're broke. ^_^

This is just being ignorant. Im assuming you are a complete loser and this is your way of validating to yourself your place in society. Grow up and stop stereotyping. Some of my smartest friends are who you would call jocks.

I proudly display my love for anime and manga. Today I wore my "It's over 9000" shirt and many people loved the reference. My friends in high school called me Geek 2.0 because I was an athlete and nerd. Love my nerd status.

You'll be surprised how many people in a college community follow manga like we do on NB. Just gotta ask around and you'll see there are many people that love manga and anime. Just don't be scared to.

What do you consider a nerd? I'm well known in school, have a lot of friends, hang out with them a good amount, and I play Volleyball (once), Soccer, XC, and Track for my school. But I'm in Honors + AP, maintain good grades, enjoy reading books and manga, and I occasionally browse some tech-related news.

I have a social life but still do what I've mentioned above. Up to you to decide whether I'm a nerd or not.

i wouldn't say i'm considered a nerd by my peers or my friends because i was surprised to learn that a fair amount of them are actually closet nerds like me

by that i mean that several of my friends low-key watch naruto and one piece and most of us aren't even low-key because we dgaf what people think anyway haha. the funny thing is that nobody would ever guess just by looking at me or one of my friends that we like anime but in reality we're crazy about it, sometimes we talk about it even when we're at parties and stuff and that's when it's the most fun because we're usually drunk ahaha anyway i'm not a nerd but a closet nerd and i know this because at my old high school there was a group of kids that literally wore akatsuki robes and konoha headbands to school and challenge each other to duels regularly, but in my mind there's really nothing wrong with that it's just a bit unusual but in the end i can't lie me and my friends constantly "fight" using gomu gomu attacks and "oni giri" and such so we do it too just not at school

damn i guess i'm pretty much a nerd but idgaf cuz nerds are boss sometimes haha

if your asking about the stereotipical nerds, you know with big taped glasses pants up to my stomach, then know imnot one of those but im a huge nerd at heart and i tell people about. ima freshman at cal poly in higschool i did football, crosss country, wrestling and track and i a smart guy.Even though i did all those sports i hated being called a jock, but if someone brings upan anime then im all happy and start talking about it no matter where im at, it shocked some people cause i look like the complete opposite of a nerd but i claim it. Theres days at practice cross country where we would b runningand all of a sudden run at each other yelling chidori or rasengan, pikachu i choose you or let it rip

I consider myself a nerd, but I am in the "popular" circle at high school. People are usually called nerds based on their appearance, since that is the 1st thing you notice about someone.

People stereotype Anime as a "nerdy" thing. Like I can't even get my girlfriend into Anime or anything just because it's Japanese/Animated... but, mostly everything else I recommend to her she really enjoys. She by herself sat there and watched the LOTR triology this week because I started the first one with her.
People just find Anime weird because it's foreign and they don't give it a chance because its animated on top of it.

a guy who worked nights at my old job had long hair and wore either a leaf or an itachi headband every night. i just wish i could have done that.... also i wish i had a naruto head band....

Nah, i'm actually a "popular kid" who plays sports and parties a lot and what not, however my friends will poke fun and say i read manga every now an then but other than that, they don't care at all.

Yeah, everyone can be self-conscious. But to me it's more noticeable in this thread, or so I assume. I mean, it's not like I'm going list my accomplishments, classes I'm in of a higher level, and talk about my social life to answer a question.
