if they don't look like Revolution on PC then chances are they're just concept art.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the thread.

If Xbox is going to hold back the graphics of the game yes it does there is no way the game is going to look like that

First off, that's art and not the graphics.

Also, 900p and 1080p aren't really a noticeable difference.

Eh I haven't played enough PS4 games to say it's not better, but to me and the games i've played, there wasn't much of a difference.

^ Definitely.

They're ass with actual graphics, so don't expect anything like that.

NO it can't be
I don't understand why everyone is so quick to dismiss these screenshots as concept art. Never in the past have we gotten 'concept art' like this for the games, especially since concept art is released before actual work on the game is shown. The game is expected to launch 3rd quarter this year, and we've already begun seeing gameplay; why the shit would they waste time showing mere concept art this late? There's a 90% chance these are all in game when you take into consideration a few factors:

* [I don't know about this screenshot in particular] The last screenshot we got [Naruto vs Sasuke] was an official release labeled as a screen shot. People were quick to relabel it as concept art because they don't want to admit that the game looks jaw dropping and wish to continue on the bandwagon that these games suck.

* If they were to show concept art, they wouldn't bother limiting what they show in the concept art. In the past with screenshots, they're very particular about what they show, since they don't want to spoil the major events prior to the game's release. If these were concept art, they'd have shown things like how Kaguya will look rendered.

* These are clearly rendered in a game engine, not drawn or digitally recreated.

* The gameplay that we got of Madara vs Hashirama was explicitly said to be in beta, so the graphics may still improve beyond that, but even those graphics looked visually better than any of the prior games. Particularly the facial expressions.

* The first trailer shown featuring Naruto and Sasuke's final battle showcases amazing, better than anime, graphics on par with what we've been seeing in what people are calling 'concept art'.

* A lot of people dismiss the Naruto vs Sasuke screenshot as concept art because they claim that in game you wouldn't actually achieve angles like that. CC2 has already confirmed that there will be an option in game to switch camera angle to get a more stylized look, similar to GTA's cinematic camera option - as such, it likely won't be the most practical option to use in game as it will be hard to play like that, but it would prove that these more cinematic looking screenshots are in fact in game.

Or maybe people are calling them concept art because Bandai Namco Games themselves are referring to them as a "piece of art", rather than "screenshot".

You dont need to get uber defensive about the game. I enjoy the storm games and think the new game looks nice. but not this nice... There's no way the images they keep showing are screenshots straight from the game.

Bandai Namco have never once said the word "screenshot", and in all interviews where these images have been mentioned they get defensive and choose their choice of words very carefully.

They may be screenshots. But even if that is the case, they have been digitally enhanced in some way. You can just look at the image and tell it isnt a screenshot. The 10-tails looks hand-drawn for a start. Hand drawn stuff in a game like this looks terrible, so theres no way they would put that in their already nice-looking game. It would look terrible.

To be honest, when a company releases anything image related and refuses to confirm it is taken from gameplay - it's pretty obvious that its not. If that was the case, you should be able to pause any 1080p gameplay video of NS4 and get graphics like that, which you cant...

Either way, both are cr*p, hardware speaking. :coffee:

Um unless you've opened up a PS4 and actually looked at the hardware how would you know? I doubt Sony would release one of their largest selling product with faulty wiring.

Well by looking at the specs. ( I don't talk about the assembly quality, but the quality of the hardawre power)

Sony and microsoft in their marketing sold a "powerful" machine who will do 1080p/60fps games. At first look at the specs ( 1.6/1.7 ghz 8 core jaguar proc, 8 gb ram, ati 7900 series gpu ), you can expect that this promise can be fulfilled to some point.

Then the benchmark fall. It's unlikely.

The jaguar proc is shitty as hell holding up the gpu power.
The dev must have the choice between 1080p or 60 fps if they want to make a game who can be technically call next gen.

When you look at the previous gen, it was worth a very powerful PC gaming for the three first years. ( two for PS3 since it came later), A medium one for two years and then a normal one. When you looked at the first "technical gallery" games of PS3 and Xbox360, they looked awesome, far ahead of the previous gen.

When you look at the PS4/xboxone, when they came out, even a medium gaming rig was more efficient. Now for an upgrade of less than 400 bucks you can have a better PC. Something impossible for the previous gen for years after the release date. They sold "future" rig, but in reality they are outdated machines.

And why it's getting sold ? Like Apple: the brand name.
