Because we're debating.....and I needed to rebuke your previous statement.

So what? You don't want attention, right? Why do you ever have any sort of interaction with another person? Why are you alive?

lol well now you're twisting the philosophy.

Wanting recognition and having interaction doesn't always entail needing other people's sympathy.

I don't want to be recognized for my sorrows or how I coped with them.

There are countless other ways to be recognized.

I didn't say sympathy, I said attention. That's what everyone wants. There is no "easy" or "hard" life. You live the life you have. Everyone is the same. They do things so that their existences can be acknowledged, so that they can feel necessary to the world. That is it. Blindly assuming that people can't have difficult lives because of their socioeconomic status shows that you still haven't realized this. Anyone can feel useless, no matter where they come from or what they've been through.

Not really, I don't seek attention. In fact I try to do the opposite half the time. If you knew me in person, you'd see that.

I always wear heavy clothes and hoods in order to hide myself even though I have tattoos and an athletic body.

I don't usually socialize and the people I consider friends are one's I've known since childhood, so I don't need to seek their attention. I usually don't take kindly to people I'm meeting for the first time because I feel like they're violating my privacy.

I also like to be single(for 5 years so far), just flings, and not planning on getting married at all. If it were up to me, I'd have a child without a wife.

So if I sound like an attention *****, please stop me here and now.

You're not being honest with yourself. Think about why you do those things. Think about why you continue talking to me if you know that I'm wrong. Spend days, weeks, months on end thinking about every single aspect of yourself, figuring out why you exist as you are now. Unless you want to tell me your whole story, I can't do it for you. Some people spend their entire lives trying to find themselves in the wrong places.

Trust me man, you're psychology is completely way off.

I can tell you exactly why I do those things. It really all boils down to my personal beliefs and the goals I have.

What is off about it? People make sense. Are you telling me that, with knowledge of every single event in someone's life and every single aspect of their present self, one could not perfectly understand them? Oh an open mind too I guess. People don't just live randomly. People shape themselves based on their experiences. There is a reason for everything that any given person does. What could possibly be "off" about that?

Because you said I'm not being honest with myself.

And that's not true, some people do live randomly. I've seen them. A man who just did what he wanted and acted on his impulses without any thought to the consequence or the future.

If he wanted to hit you for no reason, he would hit you.

He was a nihilist and he told me the reason why he lives that way was because it's fun and he was bored, so one day he just said "**** it"

I once met Mike Tyson and challenged him to a fight. Does that count as a suicide attempt?

That isn't no reason. There is a reason that he decided to live that way. It can be traced back to some event(s) in his life. Something happened that made him choose to act on impulse. Anyway, where do you think that impulses come from? Just because you don't understand someone does not mean that they do not make sense.

Probably from mental instability.

Not sure if you read the edited post, but I did ask him why. He told me because it's fun and he was bored. One day he just woke up and said "**** it"

Yeah ok. It wasn't random though. Something caused that thought to occur to him, and something caused him to choose to act on it. There were events in his life that led up to the occurrence of that thought. Aside from maybe people with severe mental conditions, everybody makes perfect sense. And we would all be a lot better off if we just tried to understand each other. You are telling me that he acted without reason, but giving me the reasons he cited for acting that way.

Sure I can agree with that but I think this has no longer to do with suicides wanting to be recognized.

Yes it does. If people didn't want to be recognized, they would never do anything. There would be no point of living. They might as well just...kill themselves. Look at that.

lol not true. There are plenty of people who live in total isolation. Have you ever heard of hermits? Yeah

Needing to be recognized or having attention is not the only thing to live for. There were cases of men trapped on islands and never killed themselves in that solitude.

Some people are content with doing hobbies for their own personal satisfaction and can live with only doing that, not needing anybody else.

That's true. But they do not feel alone. They choose to live alone so that they can find themselves, or connect to a higher power or something like that. Those are people who have abandoned themselves. They have no need for attention. It's like they don't exist here anymore. They have no investment in this world. They don't care about the existence that they have at the moment. They are looking ahead, into reincarnation or enlightenment or nirvana. Esoteric stuff. I'm not explaining it the way I think I should.

I know what you mean, but not all isolated people are for religious or philosophical reasons. Some people just like being alone and enjoy the nature around them.

Some men need only their hobbies. If human interaction wasn't necessary to my survival(obtaining food, electricity, etc) then I probably wouldn't even bother with it and be happy drawing, reading, watching movies, etc. on my own for my whole life.

People can overcome their loneliness, they just don't try.

Instead they kill themselves

****. I was reaching the end of typing my long, well thought out (maybe) reply, and then my laptop restarted. I'm exasperated now. And disheartened. I've said a lot. Probably too much.

Well if you did write out something that long, I doubt I would have read it to be honest. I just don't have it in me to read walls a text. I prefer to keep the points brief lol
