No, they're not thugs or whatever the hell white people want to call them. They're simply fighting for the justice they deserve and to bring justice to the murders of hundreds of people by the police. Honestly, the word thug has pretty much become a replacement for the n word nowadays. All this crap going really does make me upset.

Exactly... They're using the word thug instead of n***** these days.

That's because people of all races were involved so it just wasn't black thugs, which is how I feel ****** is properly intended to be used. On that note though, I saw a clip of a reporter I think on CNN who said "calling them thugs now, just call them...." It bleeped after "them" so I can only assume what he said, but the clip is out of context so idk what it was all about.

Also "they're" using the word "Monday's" or "Canadians" these days.

As for the use of the word riot, Vancouver went into a riot after winning a Stanley Cup before, that's the one most prominent in my memory right now, but most always I hear fan riots being referred to as riots not only by reasonable people but also the media. I could be wrong(in fact it's not official information at all) but I think the word riot is reserved for the first fire, once that first fire's ignited it's officially a riot. Again I know that's not actually how it works but that's a definite sign of a riot in my eyes.

These riots aren't justified, as in to prove a point or make a change, it's as Obama said, they are simply thugs taking advantage of a bad situation to further their own greed and to unleash their own anger.

This is not a protest, or a demonstration, it's a riot.

Couldn't have said it better.

They just take advantage of the situation. Like every time.
Their actions aren't justified, and they can't be justified.

Them burning down buildings is ridiculous

But hey things have to be done to get attention. Police brutality is one of most overlooked things and it needs to be acknowledged seriously.Until this start causing money nothing will change. Games are being cancelled/postponed
Which means no money no commercials for the game which means means no money which effect who? The MLK anti bus rides are a perfect example. When it start costing them money they are going to change. And what happened when they changed? The law which stated a black had to give up their seat to a white person was gone.

All the people they show on tv are black people but they never show you the white people pissed off about police brutality on tv. But hey they're thugs in other words they're n****
Preach.

No one is justifying these riots.

If you're being violent, destroying property, smashing windows, throwing bricks and burning down buildings, then you are a thug. You being black doesn't mean you get to be called something different. Were the officers behind the unjustified murders thugs? Yes. But you don't get to curse out pigs while rolling in the slop with them. I'm not gonna sit back and act like what they're doing isn't wrong just because they're black or because of the catalyst that sparked this reaction.

Having a riot is the equivalent to throwing a temper tantrum. Even if the cause and the way you feel is justified, what you're doing is gonna overshadow that in the long run. It makes harder for the people you're trying to get attention of to see it from your side. If you're burning down buildings, and destroying property, that's what they're gonna see. The concern is gonna become "How do I stop these people from damaging themselves, others, and the city any further" rather than "Now that's a good argument and outlook on police brutality, we should think about this and work towards solutions."

You cannot make someone acknowledge and work towards a problem by creating and throwing another problem in their face.

Rioters are thugs, it's not racist. Do you honestly think that if us white people are walking down the street and see a bunch of sports fans burning cars, buildings, breaking things that we just go "That's cute...hooligans." Hell no, those people are dangerous.

The only difference is that the sports fans are easier to detain because they're not protesting, they're up to no good legally. It's harder whenever you're dealing between the line of protests and groups that may break out into burnt buildings and riots. The situation is elongated and get's more attention because of that, due to part of it being demonstration and the other part being violent opportunists.

I think a lot of the problem is media. I've got to say that during the Ferguson riots, the national news was at most to blame, brewing things with misinformation and sensational media. (I live in Kansas City, it was ridiculous how sensational and kneejerk national attention was compared to our local news). The media is going to try and start things here too, I bet I've already been given overhyped versions of the "facts."

I dont care what anyone says, he may have been a criminal but he didn't deserve to be executed . He deserved to be tried in a court of law like everyone else ( particularly white people, admit it you never hear this happening to white people ) .

I think the end of Mortal Man, interview with tupac, sums up what's happening right now .

I think we can all agree on this one. We can't have our police arresting people and breaking their spine without any investigation. Such is dangerous for us all.

People hype the brutality, far more good deeds are done by police officers each day then to call them out on this and create a massive annoying shit storm, yeah police have a little extra law, but lives must be sacrificed to uphold the good of the country from the inside Lol, if it is just mistakes of course murder with intent should be dealt with.

Because when any other race usually people dont play the race card ...

Georgia teen holding Wii remote shot by cops at his front door: .... the teen was white and none cared much.

Girl's arrest for doodling: ... the teen girl was Hispanic, but did not play the race card.

There are definite cases of police brutality and stupidity but its not so racist as it is made out to be.
