Are databooks canon? I'm trying to find out what animals exist in NV for fanfic purpo

For fanfic purposes, I got to know, are the Naruto databooks canon? They give information on the Naruto characters' favorite foods and least favorite foods, so a lot of animal meats are listed. For example, chickens exist in NV because Jiraiya's favorite food is fried chicken. Shrimp exists in NV becauze Hinata doesn't like eating them. You get my point, so canon or nah?

The databook doesn't say that, they both have 5's in GEN because 5 is the cap, the databooks don't have a number higher than 5.

Itachi is gifted in genjustu no matter what. Sasuke is the one who got free genjustu.

These say it all, If its not contradicted by the manga then its canon, anyone that says otherwise is just butthurt that they can't counter it.
