Because you think that i'm being dense like you or just want to have the last word, that's what i think. You keep repeating the same thing because you think, you're so convinced that because lack of belief is in the definition of atheism that it applies to a newborn or pretty much anything or anyone else, despite me telling you (on top of everything i've previously said) that it would also imply everything else that atheism stands for, as it is all part of what defines atheism.
Wow. Seriously, just wow.

That's why i copy-pasted a link to Atheism and said stop cherry picking to reinforce the idea of everyone being born atheist. I thought that'd be enough but i guess not.
The VERY FIRST SENTENCE in the link that YOU provided proved our point.

I can’t believe that it’s this hard for some people to understand what “lack of belief” means. They don’t want to admit that they babies are atheists and that they’ve lost this argument, so they just subconsciously twist the meaning of “lack of belief” in order to make themselves think that they’re right. That’s to be expected from someone who insults Stephen Hawking on the day he died for being an atheist and someone who thinks that statistics are meaningless.

You know exactly what you guys were trying to do.

We understand what you're trying to say, and we're telling you...it's not necessary. It's total make-believe.

"A baby is atheist"...so childish, ridiculous, and for the last time, it's totally manipulative and self-imagined. Piggy back riding off of the definition,as a protective counter-measure, solely to get revenge. Just childish antics, and I'm not sure why you're still manipulating the definition as a desperate attempt to make yourselves at least look right. Lmao, "we're denying facts", when honestly your argument has always been half-hearted, having the definition and all.The definition is just a cop out, for the two of you, or whomever else following behind you. We know this is just an act, and act of pride.

So insincere.

Responding, again.

You're just a set up,to be honest. You literally follow all my posts, and then co-sign behind anyone retaliating against or disagree with me. It's sort of..."sore loser-ish"...that's what I see here, smeared all over this thread between you, lightbringer, and all the other instigators.

You had an agenda, obviously.Seems to be your sole purpose on this site, nowadays.

Deceitful and manipulative. You’re just a self-entitled and self-important loser trying to get a social climb off of me.

Atheism is lack of belief whether its purposely not believing or being incapable of believing.....babies are incapable of believing at birth and its in the damn textbook definition of the word......you need to be taught and/or influenced to be religious....you don't need that to be atheistic....its so simple and people are trying to deny this in fear of being wrong....

You were born with a lack of beliefs.....again, so simple and follows the textbook definition....

Athiesm isnt lack of belief and thats where I feel the confusion arises. Atheism is lack of belief in god.

Belief = Believing in something you know of.

Disbelief = Not Believing in something you know of.

Lack = missing a ingredient of certain something.

Combining all of this, lack of belief = Not having the belief in something you know of and in this case, it means lacking any sort of supernatural deities in midst of knowing everything about thier supposed existence.

Babies dont know God. They've to know something to decide whether they believe in it/not.

Confusing this meaning by taking it literally is like saying I cant run so I dont have legs, automatically.

@Bold, no it's not. The definition of legs has nothing to do with running. It's impossible for anyone literate to make that mistake.
Nearly every word that simply means "lack of belief" doesn't bother to single out actual refusal or denial, which require the knowledge of "something" to oppose.

Your entire point is "how can a baby not have belief in something it doesn't know," right? Going by that, I'm assuming you're saying the baby NEEDS to make a conscious choice of rejecting God in order to be atheist. But it doesn't work like that. Being athiest doesn't just mean rejecting gods. I'm just going to ignore the part where you attempt to rewrite definitions.

Lack of belief isn't a literal opposite to belief's definition word for word.

No, I didnt mean that. I said atheism's definition doesnt equate to 'lack of belief'.

It equates to Lack of belief in Gods, specifically.

Deconstruct a Babys mentality. Does it have a belief to start with. A belief is a faith youve on something you know about. I cant say my classmate doesnt have a father just because I dont know who's her father or if he exist even.

Lack of belief = The inability of believing in something.

Lack of belief in Gods = Inability of believing in Gods, despite hearing about it from a source.

A baby's mind need not reject God, because my argument never states theyre born religious either.

Theyre born neutral. Not religious nor atheist.

Bruh, I'm not saying someone is considered an atheist because they don't believe in cars or whatever in the general sense of the word belief. Babies have no belief in God and they don't have to hear of him to not have it. That's what I'm saying. @stuck text, Again with attempting to change definitions. Lack of belief isn't a literal, word for word, opposite of belief. Neutral between atheist and religious would be agnostic and babies can't be that for obvious reasons.

@bold, your argument requires a baby to reject god. If a baby must know of God, and then not believe, they must reject god.

Missed my point again. It doesnt matter what word meanings literally states, its the contextual reasoning behind it which gives it sense.

He took a knife to......

When you hear someone say this above sentence, you automatically configure person speaking to you is narrating a fearful incident where someone tried stabbing him/her. That might not be case.

It could be, anything from cutting vegetables, cutting wires, cutting dogs, cutting a dead body etc.

But our instinct assumes person narrating a dangerous incident if she/he didnt extrapolate more/finish saying the whole sentence.

Like wise saying something doesnt know about god so its atheist is as intelligent as saying a car is atheist/a motorcycle since the day its created is atheist.

Thats not how definitions work.

Babies not having beliefs = lack of belief.

Not lack of belief in god.

Theyre incapable of believing in anything so why progress towards a more complex term as 'atheist'.

They cant step road 1 for starters let alone 3, 4, 5, 6.

Thats not lack of belief in god, thats 'Ignorant of God'. Theyre ignorant of such an entity.

I cannot believe/like/dislike/have faith in Donald Trump if I'm ignorant of the mere fact hes president in the first place.

Suppose Donald Trump is God, I dont know/heard/seen him so I'm atheist towards 'Donald Trump'?

@Bold, It's a good thing atheist refers to people specifically. If babies have a flat out lack of belief, that includes all its subcategories as well. Aka, babies have no belief in god, no belief in ghosts, no belief in sprites, no belief in whatever you could believe in. "Lack of belief" isn't as flexible a phrase as a verb is. It is what it is with concrete defining.

an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.
"his belief in the value of hard work"
2.
trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
"a belief in democratic politics"
synonyms: faith, trust, reliance, confidence, credence
"belief in the value of hard work"

^^ Belief is something which you create by yourself after being introduced the source, which you can choose afterwards to whether believe in/not.

Belief is not synonymous with ignorance.

Acceptance is only possible when thier's something to accept.

I'm giving you gift while youre looking out of the window through other side; can you automatically 'accept' said gift?

Rewrite the question. Are you on the other side of the window, or in the room?
