Angels and Demons of the Pantheon: the Arali

The Arali is a broad term applied to a class of beings within the Pantheon that are regarded by humanity to be angels and demons. However, the Arali typically do not see themselves in the same way; many recognize themselves as servants of the ordered universe, fulfilling their roles that were ordained upon their creation. The Arali are the gods’ creations, not their children, and serve the Pantheon from either Irkalla, the Underworld, or Eanna, typically regarded as the heavens. Those that serve in Irkalla are seen as demons while those in Eanna are seen as angels. This reputation was mostly garnered by the dreaded Gallu spirits, Arali charged to serve the Ruler of the Underworld. Their role is to drag human souls to the Underworld where they can be judged by Falnir, the Burial King. Another, the Igigi, are a type of Arali that serve the Annunaki in Eanna. But despite their heavenly origins, the Igigi are dreaded monstrosities that wield their own form of Divinity derived from Anu. The Arali emerged following Abzu’s Cataclysm, largely leaving Eanna in ruins and allowing for demons to escape from Irkalla.
Arali are similar to humans and Otsutsuki in that rather than having a specific AE, KG, or HA, it is actually roleplaying as a different species altogether. For this reason Arali are able to learn HA and AE, though not KG as this is something innate to their genetics. Some Arali types, due to their inherent power, count towards the ability load out. This means they consume the HA/AE/KG slot on a bio. However, all Arali types do not consume this slot, existing outside of the ability load outs. These are mentioned under each type. Arali do not wield chakra. Instead, they use an energy called Siris. Siris is derived from Divinity, though not Divine itself. It can be compared to Chakra in how it is used as a source for their techniques. See Siris for additional information. Within the Arali are different classes of demons and angels that each fill different niches, roles, and have varying capabilities. The strength of Arali can vary by type, or class, of demon and angel. Some classes of Arali can be made freely. Others are earned through Kumi purchases, tests, or missions. Some have their own unique bonuses and characteristics as well as access to special fields and techniques. Below, in spoilers, are the Arali that can be currently made, meeting specific requirements.
Moderator Note: Creating an Arali is similar to creating a custom Otsutsuki in that you are playing a different species/race, not simply a different clan. For this reason, fields that Arali are able to learn (basic elements, AE, HA, etc) can be noted in one’s history to have been learned during the two year time skip that occurred after Abzu’s Cataclysm. Before this point, no Arali has learned a field that would be known by Shinobi. That said, Arali do innately have access to Demonology techniques, a field of techniques that are shared by all Arali.
Moderator Note: Arali cannot be made until the interim period between Arcs 23 and 24.

The Asag
Human mythology around the Port of Innovus, centuries after the collapse of the Bronze Empire, hold that Asag are the “Children of Mountains.” In truth, they are the creations of Marduk and were charged with guarding the peaks of mountains that reached the heavens. An Asag has hardened, stone-like, craggy, dark skin. They often have three or four arms, the third usually appearing on their back, though this can vary. For this reason they are sometimes regarded as the “stonemen.” After the Pantheon was overthrown the Asag were locked away underneath Mt. Katsuryoku. But the Cataclysm has freed them, walking the planet now again freely. Because of their bodies they are naturally proficient in Taijutsu and Earth Release, as well as its variants. The quality of their Siris average, forcing them to rely on their Taijutsu when their Siris is not enough.
Asag can be made by anyone of Chuunin rank and do not count towards the ability load out. At a baseline they have 300 Siris less than the equivalent Chakra of the user’s rank (i.e. a Sage Asag would have 1,700 Siris, not 2,000). Their Taijutsu and Earth Release techniques passively gain an additional 10 damage. Asag innately have 10 physical damage mitigation.

The Sulpae, or the Shulpae, are a class of Arali known for their human-like beauty. Their own kind refer to them as the “brilliant youth.” The Sulpae originally were creations of Inanna, or Ishtar, and were charged with providing comfort and warmth to dead souls that passed on into Irkalla, the Underworld, and judged favorably by Falnir, the Burial King. However, after the Cataclysm some Sulpae managed to escape to the world of the living. With the Domain of Death shattered their purpose has been largely lost, leaving them to roam the world. Sulpae generally are very humanoid in appearance; their skin is a delicate light grey, their frames are largely petite, even amongst males, and they have dark blue sclera that blend their black iris perfectly. Sulpae are talented healers, able to make use of their Siris, Medical Ninjutsu, Yang Release, and other fields capable of physical healing to a remarkable degree. They are typically versatile caster types with much higher quality Siris than some of their brethren.
Sulpae possess a unique healing capability called Empyreal Remembrance. Empyreal Remembrance allows the Sulpae to passively extend the healing over time effects of any of their Demonology Medical techniques. When a Sulpae uses a Demonology Medical technique any currently active healing over time component is extended by an additional two turns, passively. If a healing over time of higher potency is applied through a medical technique it does not stack with others currently active, instead overwriting them and combining their durations.
Sulpae can be made by anyone of Jounin rank at the cost of 4,000 Kumi and count towards the ability loadout. Sulpae have 1 Bonus VIT AP towards Chakra/Siri, gaining 400 more Siris than the equivalent Chakra of the user’s rank (i.e. a Sage Sulpae would have 2,400 Siris, not 2,000). Their healing potency is increased passively by 25%; this means any healing they perform, be it through Medical Ninjutsu, Demonology, Suen, or Yang Release, is increased by an additional 20%. Offensive techniques performed through Medical Ninjutsu or Yang Release gain a passive 10 damage.

The Lilin, or the Lilu, are a class of spiritual Arali known for haunting humans at night. They are typically thought of as demons by humans and were originally creations formed by Nergal. Lilin are unique amongst their Arali brethren as they do not have a defined shape and are classified as a shapeshifter, able to make use of specific Demonology techniques that are available to only Lilin. Lilin possess proficiency in the realm of spiritual fields, specifically that of Utu, Yin Release, and Genjutsu. They are typically caster types with a much higher quality Siris than some of their brethren.
Lilin can be made by anyone of Jounin rank and do not count towards the ability loadout. At a baseline they have 200 more Siris than equivalent Chakra of the user’s rank (i.e. a Sage Lilin would have 2,200 Siris, not 2,000). Their Genjutsu naturally possess 10 more Chakra than normal. Lilin have 1 Bonus SPRT AP unless they are using Dual Abilities, in which case the ability with the highest AP boosts apply.

The Utukku, or Udug, are a class of ambiguous Arali known for their terrifying voices, shadowy, apparition-like presence, and their suppressive capabilities. Of the Arali, Utukku are extremely rare. Their creation is attributed to the combined efforts of Marduk and Nergal early in the Pantheon’s golden age as a means to fight the Lahmu should they ever return. But their experiment was largely a failure as the Utukku were too difficult for the Pantheon to control. Thus, they were locked away in Eanna under Anu’s watchful eye. With Eanna having shattered and fallen, what few Utukku remain now are free to wander the earth. Utukku are a mixture of beastial and humanoid in appearance. They possess remarkably sharp claws on their hands and feet, with long fingers to pair with them. They have a large wing-span that is shrouded in dark blue and black feathers. They possess powerful Chakra suppressive capabilities; this is embodied in their physical stature as they naturally reflect light around them, giving them a shadowy, dark, and apparition-like appearance.
Utukku can only be made by roleplayers of Jounin rank and who have successfully passed a Ninja World Ability Mission to obtain the biography and count towards the ability loadout. Utukku have 2 Bonus VIT AP towards Siris, gaining 800 more Siris than equivalent Chakra of the user’s rank (i.e. a Sage Utukku would have 2,800 Siris, not 2,000). They also have 1 Bonus MIND unless they are using Dual Abilities, in which case the ability with the highest AP boosts apply. By default, Utukku have Their Sound Ninjutsu is passively augmented by an additional 20 damage. Utukku also gain access to their own unique brand of Demonology techniques that implement their suppressive capabilities. Utukku are able to submit higher than normal damage and Chakra for their Demonology customs.
