Background Info.
History:
Aoshi didn’t originally belong to a ninja village and didn’t have any intention of learning to fight, but that all changed during the 3rd great ninja war when his village was caught in the middle of a skirmish and destroyed. Aoshi was only 5 years old when this happened, and was too terrified to even move. All Aoshi’s relatives and friends had been killed, he only survived because a swordmaster who had heard the battle came and saw him and saved him.
The swordmaster took Aoshi in and trained him in swordsmanship for 6 years, then they went on a search. A search for a some very unique swords. After a year of searching, on Aoshi's 12th birthday they found what they had been looking for. A temple in the Cloud Village that held three special blades. The first was a katana called Raijin (Thunder God) and the other two were twin short swords called Gemini Hojin (Twin Fire Gods). The properties of these blades allowed thier wielder to channel thier specific type of elemental chakra into the blades without the use of handsigns. (So the thunder blade can channel lightning chakra, and the fire blades can channel fire chakra) Not only that, but they are also able to be summoned back to the users hands if dropped in battle. (Like Kisame's sword)
After stealing the blades they were immediately pursued by Cloud nin. The swordmaster told Aoshi to take the swords and run as he held off the nin. The swordmaster was amazing in his skill, defending all attacks until the Raikage came. Aoshi looked back as he left the village gates only to see his master killed by the Raikage. Aoshi was both saddened and enfuriated at the loss of his master but knew that if the Raikage was strong enough to beat him, that Aoshi would have no chance, so he ran.
For three years Aoshi was a traveling mercenary, doing whatever jobs he could get from whoever would pay him. When one day, during a mission, Aoshi got into a battle with a team of ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village. One of those ninja was the Yondiame Hokage, Minato Namikaze. Who used the inescapable Talk No Jutsu, to get Aoshi to reveal why he was doing what he was, and to reveal his past. After which, he convinced Aoshi to come back to the Hidden Leaf Village. In the years since then Aoshi became a legend in Konoha for his swordsmanship skills and has learned to control his chakra.
One year however, the Raikage traveled to the Leaf Village after hearing the rumors of his stolen swords being there. He kidnapped a young child from the village to hold as ransom for the swords, Hinata Hyuuga. It was assumed that he did this for the secrets of the Byakugan, but that was just what his followers assumed. When the Raikage was killed by Hinatas father they demanded his body as payment so they could take the secret of the Byakugan.
No one ever knew that it was because of Aoshi's past that the Raikage had come to the Leaf Village in the first place.
Now, ten years later, Aoshi still fights for the Leaf Village.
