The user of the jutsu must maintain some form direct contact with the ground at all times, momentary removal will result in the instant release of this jutsu. Although a Doton technique silver is a great conductor of electricity.

Background Info.
Upon arriving in Kumogakure Goro was meet with waves of cloud ninja. Fight after fight he continued to battle valiantly against those who sought to harm him. After 102 kills he met with the man who caused his lab explosion and mercilessly tortured him for one complete year.
Returning back to konoha he discovered a new village had been made, in the land of waves. Lead by Gatsndshanks, Goro having left his ties to konoha and iwagakure, joined the village and served as personal body guard to Gatsndshanks(the Namikage). One day when Gats was leaving to attend the kage summit meeting Goro asked if he could tag along. Gats agreed and Goro followed suit. On their way to the meeting they stopped in grass village; Gats wanted to destroy the village and pillage their sweet "grass" but Goro asked if he mind if instead of destroying the village allowing him to take it over. He agreed.
With little effort Goro pwned the current leaders and killed them all making sure the old establishment was gone, ruining any chance of coup in the future. Once under his control he began to talk to the people of grass and learn their village history. He learned that they have been torn between konoha and iwagakure (both villages he once called home) the people their were experienced in the elements of earth and fire. With the villages history in his heart and mind he set out to form a new ninjutsu: Umi Katon (Liquid Fire). By combining the properties of earth and oil and adding fire chakra the new element was born.
Swearing to protect the village with his life, the villagers allowed him to house his beloved clan: the Kaguya there. And so the story continues.
