The midday sun shown down onto Ao’s four man squad, as they navigated across the dense forest. Beads of sweat began to form near their Kirigakure forehead protectors, and the younger chunins were slowing down.
Suddenly, Ao stopped. “What’s the matter captain?” A chunin piped up. “Single hostile 7 o’clock, judging from the way he’s tracking us, he possesses either the sharingarn or the byakugan.”
His squad loked scared. Especilly young Chojuro, who was struggling to stand upright under the weight of Hiramkarei. “You guys go ahead, I’ll handle it,” said Ao.
“But…” “GO!” The rest of the squad continued towards Kirigakure. Ao settled in a large plains area, and prepared for the unknown foe.
Half a kilometer away, Shisui Uchiha smiled. He had used his unique mind-controlling dojustsu to separate the Kirigakure squad, but he will not be able to use it for the rest of the day. His order from his commander was clear: capture the byakugan, attracting the least attention.
As he appeared before Ao with his signature body flicker technique, Ao’s hand formed a seal. “Water Release: Water Trumpet!” A large stream of water shot out Ao’s mouth through his hand, surrounding Shisui’s body.
He then formed another seal, “Lightning Release: False Darkness!” The lightning wave sped through the water with great speed towards Shisui, who jumped up and shot a large fireball through his mouth, stopping the lightning’s advance.
As his eyes morphed into the famous sharingarn, he landed on dry land and stared at Ao coldly. “So you’re the byakugan stealer that defeated Matski Hyuga.” “And you’re the famous ‘Shisui of the body flicker.’ “Correct.”
Ao gasped. Shisui appeared behind him in a fraction of a second and swung a katana at Ao’s back. Ao only avoided it by spotting it with his 360 degrees byakugan, and shot forwards like a bullet.
Shisui immediately followed and shot a Fire Release: Fire Dragon bullet at Ao’s back. The flames ignited Ao’s body, which melted into water, revealing it was only a Water Kage Bunshin.
Looking behind him, Shisui ducked just in time as an arc of lightning shot past him. “You are quite the opponent. I will report your strength to Mizukage-sama (Yagura) when I kill you.” said Ao coolly.
The two ran at each other and prepared to clash again.
An hour later
“Huff…huff…” The two adversaries were exhausted. Their chakras were depleting fast with their dojutsu. This is their final chance to win.
Unknown to each other, they both had a trump card that wasn’t used yet. Shisui was the first to act.
“Swift Release: Shadowless Flight!” Shisui surrounded Ao with the same speed as Lee’s 5th Gate, and Ao’s byakugan could not keep up. Shisui pierced Ao critically multipled times, than sped away panting.
Ao’s lifeless body slumped to the ground, then suddenly stood up and charged at Shisui. “What the…!?” Shisui was taken by surprised and was hammered on the chest.
He fell to the ground, gravely injured and not knowing why. Beside him, Ao’s body also crumpled to the ground. His secret technique, the Byakugan’s Kage-izanagi, had saved his life at the cost of the rest of the chakra he had.
As he edged towards unconsciousness, he hoped his byakugan would not be stolen by the enemy.
Starting from this story, I will be writing short stories are battles in Naruto that though mentioned, are not illustrated. This was the first. Hope you enjoyed it!
