Surely everyone grew dislike toward the end of Naruto and within this aspect it had ALOT of controversy in this series had. Like how many people always said "it should've end in the pain arc" or end this or that.
No, the series finished off on a strong note. The readers getting to know what was going on in Sasuke's brain was a change because we are always narrated the story from Naruto's point of view. This made Ch. 698 very good.
Naruto and Sasuke becoming the best of buds and Naruto giving back Sasuke's headband was a nostalgic moment that got me thinking back to Vote 1.
The series also connected the ending with the opening. The pairing SasuSaku finally was resolved after 697 chapters of interaction. Granted only few fans care about pairings, this pairing is the exception. About a quarter of the story was revolved around Sasuke and Sakura's romance and Kishi gave it a well conclusion to this pairing desite the tragic moments. The ending did give this manga its justice after the shitty War arc and its ridiculous asspulls and bullshits.
maybe not ending at 699, but if Naruto killed Sasuke or vice versa, that would've been the plot twist that would've just propelled this manga into a godly realm.
Especially if Sasuke killed Naruto and became Hokage.
Another 700 chapters could've been produced off of that premise alone
Agreed but I don't think Kishi wanted to throw Naruto's character in the garbage if Sasuke were to die and if Naruto died that wouldn't have been an 'ending' and it seemed Kishi just wanted to finish it.

I agree after pain's arc so much unnecessary plots takes place but since my whole childhood is spend on watching naruto i really appreciate the overall series...its always be more than average for me and even after the series is over i definitely rewatch several episode

It finished on a strong note you say but nothing was resolved Sasuke marring sakura is like the most obvious sign Kishi stopped giving a shit about trying in this series and probably just wanted to end it in the most generic happily ever after why he could. Just force tow people that have no chemistry or real love between them together because everything needs to end like a fairly tale where everyone is happy gets what they want.
Their relationship is basically one sided and full of emotional and physical abuse. Sakura has no reason to like sasuke other than the superficial face value stuff and after he has abused her so much emotionally and physically there is literally nk reason she should like him at all. Unless she is a women that wants an abusive relationship with no mutual love.
And no sasuke touching sakura forehead and saying sorry doesn't make all the problems with the pairing go away.
If anyone actually thinks that those two have well written romantic chemistry they don't know what they are talking about.
When I saw naruto run into Obito and the Jins, I expected Madara would show up, and that the Juubi would be revived. What I did not expect was how long that would get dragged out for. I mean. the war arc itself was already dragged, so it didn't really feel necessary for Kishi to make Frieza's fight with Goku look about as long as Rebecca Black's singing career, with that/those super dragged out final battle(s).
Why aint the hidden leaf village judged ? All other nations have every rights to blame the hidden leaf for causing this war. Danzo, orc, Obitio, uchiha massacre...
Let's just say the system in Konoha is flawed af. I understand the whole message with forgiveness and all, but it doesn't justify the fact that they let mass murderers and criminals live freely smh.

Like literally, I don't understand the logic in making an arc that takes place generally in one area that long. I don't think it could have possibly been good even if Kishi was a better writer.

before the war arc, i use to be the biggest narutard who would only watch/read naruto anime. but the moment tobi's mask fell off and he said he did all this ****ed up shit because "you let rin die", i ditched naruto for a few months and decided to read other animes like one piece, fairytail, hxh, fma, deathnote and eventually bleach. i ended up liking them to the point that i now thank obito for forcing me to read other manga's, so i decided to finish the naruto manga out of respect.
