Anyone grew to dislike the series near the end?

Most people did, In retrospect it wasn't that bad (considering the overall level of the series). While I didn't outright dislike it, It was not well executed imo.

Yes. I'm not even going to post the asspulls and "creative" writing by Kishimoto's part. The manga was absolutely rushed towards the end. Still the the final chapters were good.

To me, the series got more and more boring after the fight with Pain. But after I spend so much time with the series and took certain characters to my heart, I kept going in order to know how it eventually ends. And I admit that "Tobi" and Madara gave the series some nice moments tho, but overall it wasn't the same reason to read like it was until the Pain-Arc.

ot: I didn't like the the route Kishi took the manga near the end, and it continued to get even worse. Chapter 698 was good, but doesn't make up for the failure this series has turned into. It still had its good moments I must say.

When I saw naruto run into Obito and the Jins, I expected Madara would show up, and that the Juubi would be revived. What I did not expect was how long that would get dragged out for. I mean. the war arc itself was already dragged, so it didn't really feel necessary for Kishi to make Frieza's fight with Goku look about as long as Rebecca Black's singing career, with that/those super dragged out final battle(s).

I appreciated the moral lesson in Naruto but for his next manga, he should just focus on making a great story.

Still wouldn't even be close to such a title with those changes. At best naruto was always average

maybe not ending at 699, but if Naruto killed Sasuke or vice versa, that would've been the plot twist that would've just propelled this manga into a godly realm.

Especially if Sasuke killed Naruto and became Hokage.

Another 700 chapters could've been produced off of that premise alone
