[Discussion] Anyone else think maybe there's getting to be too many D's in OP

It's starting to feel like Senju/Uchiha where every major player is being shown to have some familial relation to D. Granted it hasn't got to the level of SenjUchiha nut it feels like it could slip down that slope rather easily.

The amount intro'd isn't the point though it's the amount used and how, D's are always major players but lately it seems like major players are only D's. We can have villains and partners without a D connection right?

Pretty much this. We're sure to get more, and there will be many other powerful characters that will be introduced that aren't D's as well. Plus we still don't know the origin behind the "D". It seems like something that doesn't belong to one specific family, but a group of them, similar to how there are 20 (or 19?) families of Celestial Dragons.

Luffy, Dragon, Garp, BB, Law are the only known ones alive. 3 from one family. That's not many no matter how you look at it. Besides, we don't even know what it means yet. Don't know what the fuss is about.

Obviously we will get many more D's and many more Kings Haki users. Whitebeard wasn't a D. Hell, he didn't even know what a D. Was until Roger told him yet he was a major player.

By EoS we'll have atleast 20+ D's and 20+ Kings Haki users. Law reveals to be a D and suddenly people are acting like everyone and their mothers are D.

A lot of you seem to be missing the point(not to single you out) I didn't say do we already have too many D's(duh duh tiss) I said does it seem like Oda is getting a little loose with handing out D's(again duh duh tiss) At a certain point in Naruto there was only Sasuke(Uchiha) and Tsunade(Senju) then look how quick the whole thing turned into "your a relative of Senju/Uchiha through this person or this way or that person" It soon felt like that's all that mattered was Senju or Uchiha and it feels a little like that's beginning in One Piece, if you guys don't see it, you don't see it no big deal no reason to get defensive.

But hopefully Oda doesnt overuse the D's like Senjua and Uchihas

The point is, we've entered the New World, Part 2 of Grandline. If in Paradise, we rarely heard about D (or barely expose to it), so it's about time for the truth revelation regarding it in NW. Many important figures seem to have the idea what's a D, or at least acknowledge the people with D in their names.

So far we have:

• Monkey D Luffy
• Monkey D Garp
• Monkey D Dragon
• Gol D Roger
• Marshall D Teach
• Trafalgar D Wartel Law

4 families though. My bet is that Marshall is known as the backstabber, or the most ruthless family among the D holders. Trafalgar as the royal family's personal doctor. Can't decide who's Monkey and Gol :dunno:

Ot: nah there aren't too many D's considering there's probably billions of people in the OPverse and only one villian has been a D (Blackbeard) also there are a lot of powerful people who aren't D' (admirals, shanks, kaido, big mam, whitebeard, kuma, dofla, rayliegh, Beckman, sabo, Marco, etc),so its not like D's are the uchiha of OP being all haxxed and shit.

No not really. There could be more and Law isn't even a fodder to think Oda did something wrong with it. He is one of the important characters for the story, which every OP fan should know since a long time.

And? The major players right now are Ds, so what? The Ds are gonna play a pivotal part in the story, of course many will be Ds. We're still gonna be introduced to a lot of new characters that will play big roles, and it's not like every single one will be Ds.

It also doesn't matter how many Ds are actually introduced in the story, but how they are used. Oda can introduce 100 D characters, but as long as he does something relevant with that number in some form he's done nothing wrong.

Even if the major players are only Ds, if the ones at the top are only Ds, that also doesn't matter. Why? Because Oda isn't Kishi. Unlike Kishi, Oda won't make all at the top a certain type, and then forgot about those under them. While Kishi may make the top consist entirely of characters sharing one or two traits and the rest without the trait after them, the problem with Kishi was that he focused ONLY on the top for a majority of the time. With Oda, you can have all the top players be Ds, but get a diverse set of them, and Oda won't neglect the middle and bottom. Even if the top are all Ds, Oda will still give the middle and bottom due relevance(Look at how almost an entire recent chapter was Franky and Senor Pink), which more than makes it okay.
