Anyone else had or going to be having surgery?

Just want to know if anyone else here has had surgery. I am having surgery on a torn ligament in my shoulder. Just want to know your bad/good experience. I am kinda nerveous because Doc said i would be out 3 months from hockey! agh! Do you think it really will take me 3 months?

My dad had to do that, and he had to flush it with saline solution every day... with one of those 'baby booger sucker' things... i couldnt imagine!
I had a hernia operation and that was fun... you dont realise how much you use your stomach til you cant...
anyways good luck, and the best piece of advise i can give is not to baby your arm afterwards.. dont be stupid with it but keep it moving even if its sore.. when you baby it it will just get tight and take longer to recover .. My dad just had his shoulder done a month ago and he's at 90% now...

I've had 8 surgeries the past 3 years, the surgeries itself havnt been bad and I didnt feel a thing during it, ofc you'll be sore after it. The bad experiece for me is that none of my surgeries fixed the issue wich is lame and im sure the case wont be the same for you. You shouldnt have to worry, + the anaesthesia is kinda funny especially if they gonna put you to sleep.. I enjoyed it everytime.. try to stay awake aslong as possible.. bet you cant even count to 10 .

Never actually got surgery, just got painkillers and morphine for my broken rib.
Broke my rib in judo training once... Didn't notice it and kept on training for 3 more hours, next morning, I felt like I had been shot... so I needed some serious painkillers.

I had a surgery on my foot, couldn't walk for 3 days and if i stepped on my foot it would bleed into the bandages. My doctor gave me no crutches [smart i know]. My house has stairs. I still don't know how i managed to go up and down those every day.

bet I could count to 10. And my dad has had 4 surgery's 1 on his left arm and on his other arm and the next 2 where on his right knee. I blame my dad.

I wouldn't call circumcision a surgery I got it at age of 3.. I didn't wear skirt or anything... Just chilled for 1 and half week

OT : Meh, Waaay back i have broke my finger, the bone broke and left it's normal position, was awesome, after they have me the sleep gas, when lying on mah bed i started attempting to catch the light coming from the lamp, next thing i know it, my arm is bandaged up and i am lying on the bed, feeling some serious fatigue and not even remembering anything before actually gettin some of the good gas xd

It might take you a while to recover, but recovery time is never the same for two people. My dad has surgery to repair his rotater cuff in his shoulder. He ruined it throwing the stick to my dog all the time. He got through his recovery faster than the doctor said partially because he's almost always healthy and has a healthy diet, etc. He also cannot stand being bed-ridden. Now I know where I get that from....xD

Just a few weeks ago he tore his bicep and it was jumbled up in a ball in his shoulder. It looked...just...yea. Had to get surgery to reattach it.

I fear for my future kids. On my fiance's side of the family, every one of the kids have torn their ACL in a sport while in high school. >.<

It looked creepy n i was in bed for nearly 4 months.....But know im well n fine.....

I've been lucky enough to avoid major surgeries, but I've gotten damn close. I had really bad pain in my appendix area once, and at least one doctor was convinced that I would have to have it removed. However, it turned out that I had "inflammation of the lymph nodes of the appendix". I swear, I was THIS close to being cut open xd And I still got to miss a week of school
