Now this isn't a hater thread on kishimoto, I buy the manga plus I love the series, however it should be obvious that the series isn't as good as it once was.
Let's just compare the fights. Back then, using the nine tails chakra tails was incredible to see. Everyone was in shock and awe and it was portrayed as destruction incarnate. Just with one tail, Naruto ripped Orochimaru's face in half. Compared to part 1, Naruto barely managed to beat Kabuto. Point being, everyone was always amazed to see the nine tails chakra tails come into a fight. We all knew whoever was fighting against it was going to have a bad day and it was going to be an amazing fight. Now even though Naruto has the chakra controlled (even when he had Kurama) it seems weaker if that makes sense. The destruction caused seems less immense along with the fact that it just doesn't seem special. It's like that girl you've been sleeping with for months. Just gets stale and old and you just want to throw her in the street. I'm not saying it's at that level, however seeing Kurama and Naruto fight together isn't that special anymore.
Take the Itachi vs Sasuke fight, it was built up for over 200 chapters and when it happened, it was so amazing to read. Everyone loved seeing the character growth of sasuke and itachi. New jutsus were displayed, it had plot twist, and developed the story quite nicely. It set the story for a good 200 chapters. That fight alone helped set the stage for the shinobi world war along with everything up until now. That's a how a story should develop. One fight leads on to dozens more and builds upon an interesting story.
Nowadays seeing the bijuu fight is boring along with kage level ninja. I think Kishi went overboard in terms of the power scaling. In part 1, Orochimaru, Hashirama, Tobirama, vs Hiruzen was a battle that couldn't be compared to any battle in part one and some of part 2. Now it's normal for everyone to be kage level and to use bijuu powers along with everyone either having senju dna, sharingan, rinnegan etc. Just kinda made it boring. There was a ton of character growth and development in part 1 and beginning part 2. The power scaling was balanced and it was interesting. The series always had an interesting plot and it wasn't as stale as "senju dna sharingan rinnegan bijuu power." Just my 2 cents though.
