Any Yugioh players here?

So my buddies and i began playing yugioh again and i run a toon deck. I know they are really old fashioned and not as good as the cards now, but they are my favorite and i am determined to get them to work. I know my deck is good but one of my friends keeps beating me bad with battlin' boxers and his xyz monsters.

Basically when i kill one of his boxers he says it activates an effect and he constantly brings out like 3 or 4 extra boxers then xyz summons. I might trap his xyz but he just pulls it out of the graveyard the next turn saying his boxers' effect activated. It goes on like this for the entire duel and i end up losing bad, because his xyz's all have like 2300 and above attack. Is he playing his deck correctly?

He also has an xyz monster that makes it to to where i HAVE to attack with all my monsters and i HAVE to attack his strongest card which kills me and takes life points. It's insane and i almost see no point in playing. Any ideas? How can i troll him back with my toons?

i played yugioh but they really screwed the game now with those synchros,XYZ and that bullshit....the game itself is just a special summon spam right now....special summon,special summon,special summon,special summon,i win...no balance anymore,only certai n decks have a chance of victory and there isnt any versatility to the game so much anymore

I play Yugioh. You know Devpro? It's a card game based on online where you can duel against other opponents. You can also tag with your friends. The cards are free and you can search for every cards you want and then make your own decks. You can create like over 50 decks.

I recommend you to go and install that online game.

And for that Battling Boxer, I think I know a way how to beat them. You have to remove their Xyz monsters. If not then your opponent can revive them back or simply Xyz another one.

You know a series called "Yugioh 5D's"? Well, there is a card named " Junk Archer" and that card is a Synchro monster. It has 2300atk, maybe it does not rely on higher attack power, but its effect works well against any xyz monsters, including Battling Boxer. Because with that, once per turn you can remove one of your opponent's monster from play and return them back to the end phase which means that Xyz monster will not have any of its Xyz materials, because you removed it earlier by the help of Junk Archer's effect. That's a way on how to beat them. In overall, how many decks do you have?

I agree I borderline can't stand it anymore, i play with a normal deck that's well balanced and pretty fun for everyone, but they play with these over the top decks that special summon for like every turn. It just gets boring.

Well i play yugioh duel generations ( you can download it on your ios or android device) ...great game... I use the elemental hero deck... Since you're using toon world, you should add relinquished( a ritual monster) to your deck, you can steal any monster on your opponents side of the field instead of destroying it and if your opponents attacks relinquished once you detach the monster you took control off and your opponent takes damage depending on the attacking monsters attack points...anyways since you like toon world, i am assuming you like maximillion pegasus and relinquished is part of his deck... Hope this helps...
Oh and i think you can have xyz monsters as well, you can use your toon monsters to xyz summon....

I played competitively a LONG time ago with Jinzo control and a tiny bit recently with Constellars. I know enough, however, that here's the deal: You have to take advantage of XYZ.

Your friend is probably taking advantage of this:
1. The tempo- Just by playing the game and jamming the field, you get a "free" high quality monster of choice.

2. The Card Advantage- The XYZ you pick is going to have some effect that either boosts your tempo or grants favorable trading with your opponent's field.

3. The selection- You'll have multiple XYZ's at the same level for multiple situations, meaning you have more options. More options is better chances to win.

Why Toon's are not good:
1. Dependence on Toon World- Toon World is a bad card. It's a card that "turns on" your other cards. Your opponents' monsters will always be turned on. This is just a -1 to your effective hand.

2. Tributes are definitely a worse XYZ in most decks- Tributes were a tempo play. 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 yourself in order to get a tempo boost maybe with card advantage attached. Guess what XYZ does? It only 2 for 1's yourself as a special summon and you get the selection with a guaranteed strong effect.

My guess is that he's virtually playing with A LOT more cards than you which is why it feels like you're swamped when he has a full field. I don't know how to make toons good, but finding a deck that takes advantage of XYZ is the answer I will give.

If the opponent has field advantage, neither Relinquished or TER will do much to establish a decent defense unless you snatch the biggest card the opponent has and hope they don't have a way to get rid of it, which is dumb since there is so much monster removal out there now.

OT:

Toons are extremely outdated, and very slow even at the time they were more effective. It isn't hard to beat them, you just need very elementary S/T removal, monster removal and decent monsters to beat them. The reason your opponent is beating you is because he has total control of the game. His deck is fast, he can build his field quickly via the use of effects that allow for lots of special summoning, and he forces you to attack him which costs you LP. Assuming his monsters do what he says they do, Skill Drain will help you a lot. -1000 LP to deal with problematic monsters on the field is a pretty good deal. Also, it would get rid of some of the drawbacks on your Toons. If he packs S/T removal of his own, run 2 Skill Drains. Torrential Tribute sounds like it would help you alot as well. If he gets lots of monsters on the field quickly, use that TT. It will hurt, and destroy his field control.

Of course, this is assuming you want to use Toons. As said before, they're slow and outdated. They have no support, or any that matters at least. I would advise taking a look at other decks that are better competition against his cards, or even decks that can use his strengths against him as well.

I still play every now and then, usually on dueling network. I mainly run trolling decks (OTK & lockdowns) while others I use to continuously spam monsters and bring them back after i've used them, pretty easy way to synchro/xyz summon fast.
Like others have previously said, toons are extremely outdated and not really something that can pull themselves up to this meta's standard, they heavily rely on toon world, which if removed/destroyed/banished leaves your deck totally useless. Nowadays people WILL carry a few mythical space typhoons, dark bribe, heavy storm, etc... even monsters that destroy spells/traps and/or negate their effects.
Battlin boxers are nice, and can be used to summon quite a few monsters for quick xyz summons, so he can bring plenty of strong monsters to the field with ease, one thing you can do to stop that is to change your entire deck, use skill drain trap (but it would also negate your toons making their purpose useless, use negate sp summon cards (a good deck dedicated to negating sp summons will lock down most of this meta's top tier decks

I made a decent toon deck, it won't work without xyz though take advantage of it'd swarm aspect and needs to be fast and consistent, I can attempt to remake it and giveyou the recipe via dev pro I'd you'd like the greatest weakness of that deck is the wait a turn to attack so I recommend using a very great stall card called vengeful bog spirit very old overlooked card that stalls any monster that's summoned, doesn't matter to you since they already have to wait and gives you a fighting chance and a chance to take out their overpowered card. Works good with card card d btw
