Also it may not be stated directly in the manga that Sharingan can see if the original is a shadow clone or not. But it does state the sharingan can see through the technique. Therefore leaving possibilities of ways to keep track of the original with sharingan.

Shadow clones and any other clone are different water, wood, earth, all are made of said chakra so any special eye can see what they are. Except shadow clones because the clone and caster have the same kind and amount of chakra as stated by the manga. Until it states otherwise no eye can tell a shadow clone from the caster anyone naruto has fought has been fooled by this even the wankers favs.

You would need to have V2 Ei's speed in order to pull off a substitution against an MS.

The sharingan can't see through kagebunshins because they split the chakra evenly among the clones, but it can see through normal bunshins which are mere illusions.

So neither should work against amaterasu. the best thing an academy student could do is throw a smokebomb.

The Bunshin no Jutsu makes duplicates of the caster. Amaterasu spawns on whatever the caster is focusing on with his eye. The Amaterasu caster cannot differenatiate between the clones so he will not know which to aim for. Since Amaterasu is a chakra-taxing technique, it would be unwise or impossible for the user to use amaterasu on all of the clones.

Method 2:

Substitution jutsu to substitute a log for the actual body, so the log gets caught on fire instead of the Amaterasu user's initial target:

^^^this. that part of the VoTE fight was filler. Sharingan cannot differentiate between clones, this has been proven multiple times.

1) Obito didn't know which Naruto was the real one so he attacked the clone

2) Obito does this again, he has to stab the clone with a black rod to realize it's a clone
