It depends on if the SM user has a fast enough Shunshin to be able to react to the enemy's speed; same thing with the Sharingan. Lee told Sasuke that it doesn't matter if Sasuke can see his moments, if he's not fast enough to react then seeing him is useless. Sensory ability and doujutsus are both considered sensory abilities just like Kiba's nose and Shino's bugs are.
