They don't have to see they opponent. Due to sage mode they'll perceive and react to it.

Naruto and Sasuke literally got caught by her 2-3 times total(Sasuke 3) and Naruto or Sasuke reacted to it. Naruto only got use to it because he became more on his toes due to what happened to Sasuke.
