Actually, he didnt use genjutsu because he was controlling kurama via sharingan already

and you can't drag multiple people into a genjutsu? A genjutsu strong enough to overpower the 9 tails probably would be strong enough to be able to hold a Kage as well. I mean seriously, Obito showed no signs of Chakra exhaustion until he got drilled into the ground and only retreated because half his side had been blown off.

Also, that still doesn't refute my argument that Minato didn't know he was fighting an Uchiha. Nowhere in the anime or Manga does Minato give any indication he knew he was fighting an Uchiha. If he had known, there would have been a LOT more dialogue between the two as they fought, as Minato would have wanted to know why some one of the same Village was doing this to the Leaf. All Minato knew he was fighting was a very strong shinobi with S/T jutsu on par with his S/T jutsu.

And Minato would have known about the Mangekyo Sharingan and it's power. All Hokages need to know the secrets of clans they are protecting.

I'll give you the ocular genjutsu argument. Because there is no way to deny or prove it.

Minato had considered. And decided it couldn't be Madara for some unknown reason. He also may or may not have ruled out the possibility of fighting an Uchiha, but since if he decided he was fighting one, then it'd be pretty poor story writing to not have Minato ask why a fellow Village mate was fighting against his village.

I can. Because Kage have are in charge of deciding what makes up a forbidden jutsu in their village. It'd be poor reasoning to assume that they don't have extensive knowledge on all or most of the jutsu that originates out of their village. They decide if new jutsu's are good enough for practical battle use. So to make such decisions, they must know what other Kages in the past approved or didn't approve.

Plus, the Uchiha were a pretty important clan whose dojutsu was famed throughout the entire world. And Uchiha who got the MS were even more famous (like Madara, and Minato knew Madara had the MS because frankly, with out that power, Madara wouldn't be just a really angry Uchiha with a regular sharingan) It can be inferred that Minato knew of the MS because of Madara's exploits, and Minato obviously knew of Madara's exploits.
