Take this into consideration . When i mean anime i don't mean fillers or deviating from the manga or bad animation.

When i mean anime here i mean The anime animating the manga exactly as it is with excellent animation and art work .

When the anime is like this what do you prefer anime or manga?

My answer is Anime Anyday . When neji died in the manga i didn't feel anything , it wasn't that big of a thing but when it was animated it was a whole different thing i even teared! Witht he music voice acting sound effects they all change the atmosphere .

Manga, more often than not. Anime adaptations tend to take certain liberties with how closely they follow the original source material, so things are missed. Anime adaptations have, in some of my experiences, enhanced the quality of certain parts though.

If we are following cannon material then anime. Take the war arc for example. I was unimpressed by the war arc as a whole mainly because I didn't really get a sense of depth or atmosphere from the black and white panels of the manga.

The anime however really brought it to life with color, voice acting, music, etc. things like when Obito told Kakashi "you let Rin die" is a good example. People were giving Obito a hard time about this as the manga made it seem like Rin was his whole reason for doing what he did. In the Anime however, it seemed like he was just trying to get under Kakashi's skin and Rin dying was just the motivator and not the sole reason.

That being said: the anime does drop the ball occassionally. The 8th gate Gai VS JJ Madara for example. The manga made it feel and look epic, but the anime was underwhelming at best. They really messed that fight up. It just looked and felt dry.

That's my 2 cents anyway.
