Anime.
Voice-acting and music are essential in order to create a gripping atmosphere. In that way, the pictures and fictional characters are brought to life basically. Also, action-scenes don't really work without moving pictures and music, at least to me.

When I discovered the Naruto-manga, I read it simply because of the new information it provided (since the anime was years behind the manga). Besides Naruto, I've never really read another manga and don't read a lot in general.

Take this into consideration . When i mean anime i don't mean fillers or deviating from the manga or bad animation.

When i mean anime here i mean The anime animating the manga exactly as it is with excellent animation and art work .

When the anime is like this what do you prefer anime or manga?

My answer is Anime Anyday . When neji died in the manga i didn't feel anything , it wasn't that big of a thing but when it was animated it was a whole different thing i even teared! Witht he music voice acting sound effects they all change the atmosphere .
@Bold, anime of course, unless you really want to caught up with the story in a fast pace. You take 22 minutes to catch up with 2 chapters of the manga (It depends on the manga. There are occasions that a single episode can take up to 7 chapters) so if you want everything animated with OST and voice acting, anime any day of the week.

If it's adapted properly and doesn't derail characters or leave things out, then I would pick anime simply because it's nice to see things in color, motion, and with a good soundtrack.

But since anime is rarely adapted well, I always say manga is better. Manga that I though their anime counterparts did no justice to
1. Naruto -way too much filler and dragging out the same scenes over and over again, plus the inconsistent art.
2. Elfen Lied -Only 1 cour so damn near everything felt empty. The plot went nowhere, and was left open-ended. Many characters were not introduced, and the characters that were around got very little development. Bandou being the one that suffered the most imo. he was my favorite in the manga. Good depth, development and different sides. Anime-wise, he was just a plain ******* wth nothing more to him.
3. D.Gray-Man + D.Gray-Man Hallow -The former had too much filler, changed around events, left things out. And like Elfen Lied, it derailed my favorite character. They did to Cross Marian what EL did to Bandou. And Hallow is only 1 cour, with 13 episodes. And stuff is completely skipped over.

Manga hands down. I don´t really like anime or watching series in general, so that makes it easier for me.

Furthermore, as I read quite fast, it is change the pace however I want.
