Animated GIF from video

Well, the title says most of it. I have got the .MOV file and I managed to cut out the part which I want to convert to GIF but I just can't do the final part.
When I try to finish one of these two things happens:

• I get a very slow GIF
• My PS crashes

I'm sure that's because of my PC (I won't say how old it is because it's a shame). So if anyone, who knows of course, could just do the finishing part I would be more than grateful. I'll pay of course!

I used three software to convert mov. to GIF and the maximum file size limit for GIF is 1.7 megabyte for it to work fine just like my signature.

I have photoshop do to the convertion and I don't need those low budget programs. The thing is that my PC is too weak and buggy and I can't get the speed right or maybe I'm doing something wrong. So I asked if someone could help, but I guess not. Never mind then.
