Ho....lee....sh**!
Developed by 4J Studios and Created by Mojang, Minecraft: XBOX 360 Edition takes players through the same PC experience on Microsoft's console. With zombies, creepers, and skeletons (oh, my!) running amock, the player must build a shelter and build in the ever-expanding world of Minecraft.
Differences from the PC and XBOX 360 include:
-The player can use the XBOX 360's Kinect function with Minecraft. Although you do not have to have it to play, it sure would make things a little interesting,...and make it seem awkward when you flailing your hand in front of the screen trying to mine with your pickaxe...*shudders*.
-Unlike in the PC version, players simply do not have to put materials in the correct spot on the crafting menus. If you have enough materials, the game will simply make it for you.
-An awesome new feature includes a 4-player splitscreen for you and your buddies/relatives/aunts/dogs/alien life forms/etc. at home, not to mention 8 player multiplayer over XBOX LIVE.
-A similarity between the two version is that Mods/Skins/Texture Packs will be available for the 360, although will not be accessible at launch.
-Very much from the PC version, players who have never had the Minecraft experience will be treated to a Tutorial mode that lets the player build their first house and get familiar with the tools.
-The world is 1000x1000 blocks, and unlike the PC version, players will always begin with a new world with a map.
The release date for Minecraft: XBOX 360 Edition is Wednesday, May 9th, 2012. The price is 1600 Microsoft Points for the XBOX LIVE Arcade.
