Zabuza puts up the mist and blocks the sharingans sight, so no genjutsu for Itachi or Kakashi. No one on team 1 has wind style or any move to disperse the mist away. And none of them has sensing skills (kakashi has smell, but it didn't work against Zabuza because kakashi's nose isn't like kiba's), Yamato has tracking skills, not sensing on a battlefield.

As shown in the manga, Zabuza can work perfectly on the mist, he doesn't make any sound, while mangetsu showed that he can fight pretty well on the mist also.

Assuming Anbu Itachi is 3 tomoe itachi (No susano, Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi) , Team 2 should take this, Zabuza could speedblitz and outsmart Kakashi with clones, and this time there's no naruto and sasuke to save him, Itachi would be bussy facing Kisame and Mangetsu at the same time, while Yamato would probably be decapitated by Zabuza.

Zabuza is a major threat even for current 3 tomoe Kakashi, since he doesn't have any way to track him down, and the mist blocks his reflexes, he was already outsmarted by Zabuza on the mist with clones and also was speedblitzed.

The Hidden Mist as a whole is stronger then the Hidden leaf. even with Itachi and Kakashi the two strongest ninjas IMO they would not stand a chance fighting team 2. Kakashi would not be able to take on Zabuza 1v1 with out help. Zabuza took on Kakashi with Naruto and Sasuke to get him out of the Water prison. so solo he has no chance. I disagree with this. Reason being, itachi can read the souls of people and no thier next attack. Even if he cant see zabuza he'll understand his soul's thoughts and know where he'll come from. Also finger genjutsu one shots these guys as itachi is a master of mass control genjutsu. You need sakura level chakra control and genjutsu resistance to break a victim affected by itachi's illusion.

And what do you think a person needs to break the control of a genjutsu caster on his own? Stamina. And the power generated by stamina. Senju were equal to uchiha because of this. Naruto spent 3 years completely mastering how to generate all the power of his stamina with jiraiya and even then he couldnt break 30% finger genjutsu on his own and you can see the kyuubi's whiskers appearing in his face proving he even used kyuubi's dense chakra and not just stamina to try break the genjutsu. Pre-shippuden naruto doesnt matter. He still had more stamina than 99.99% of NV. As scans prove kyuubi was the reason for his stamina are you telling me kyuubi improved its stamina from part 1 to part 2? I hope you're not telling something like that. So now your premise is kisame is not getting caught in genjutsu? Hiding in mist is useless because of the soul reading ability which itachi has as kabuto stated.
