Did you read the manga? Naruto didn't go RSM, Kurama was anxious for action and took over for him. That's why Naruto said to him "Don't go nuts", and he wanted to ensure Sarada and ChoCho are safe with the actual him, no clones.

The goal of Shin and the hooded guy is to kill Sasuke. That doesn't mean he's strong enough to kill him, he wants to kill him for the sake of his goal/revenge. It's the same as kid Sasuke saying he wanted to kill Itachi. That's why they attacked his daughter. Neither are foolish enough to attack him head on.

But they did attack him head on, and there is no telling the strength level of the mystery man. They have a plan to take down Sasuke that doesn't involve gorilla hit and run tactics. Which is why Sasuke contacted Naruto about his ordeal in the first place.

And you are underestimatimg onion. onion dodged a 100% kurama + rsm claw which is super fast. That means onion speed is on bar with rsm naruto. If naruto go base mode, you believe naruto can have a better chance to capture him While being slower?!

He dodged one attack launched by Kurama not a flurry of attacks. Base Naruto already showed he was faster when he saved Sarada and Chouchou from an attack with killing intent.

The eyes symbolized him using rikudou power like when he was a against Madara when he attacked him with No truth seeking balls. But when Naruto fought shin he still wasn't using all his chakra or attacking like he really could. Kurama simply used a claw attack with some rikudou power but if Naruto or Kurama wanted to keep attacking nothing would stop them from hitting him. It was Just to show his mangekyos feats but if kurama sent two claws I doubt he would even live or dodge. That's Why shin retreated.

I completely agree with you. You make valid points and there is little reason for Naruto to go all out AND question a clones ability.

Also Shin's assurance that he could and will kill Sasuke after scoping his power out.

I just assume he's not incredibly intelligent and isn't used to capturing people rather than just battling them, hence why the kiddies were able to evade his capture for a minute or so.
