Does anyone realize while we're calling Hashirama the strongest hokage ever we've only seen four techniques and we're taking the word of a character who seems like he had a man-crush on Hashirama that he was great. This not-withstanding the fact that he probably would never lived to see Hiruzen in his prime as far as we know anyway. And finally I wish people would look past that one flaw and read the rest of the original post. Furthermore Hashirama is Tsunade with Mokuton. Mokuton is not an end all be all element. Otherwise Yamato would be the shit. The Mizukage is great with elements. But she has way more than two (5) Earth, Lava, Fire, Water, Boil. If you take away the Lava fire, and boil you get what the first had. If you add to the that the ability to heal oneself and Tsunade's unenhanced strength that's the first. I say Hiruzen prime was stronger. Hashirama was not a god

hiruzen wasnt either he didnt show anything impressive or of large scale. he couldnt even counter kurama's tbb minato saved him. and he was foolish as he let oro escape and because of that oro destroyed lives and came back and tried to destroy the village.

if your refering to the idea that it is just his opinion then you have to understand facts given in naruto through characters are by kishi and are technically the truth. and kabuto's statement can also be a opinion. besides hiruzen would get stoped easily by a bunch of characters now for sure. he just had to much hype with no abilities to back it up.

In Part 1 everything was different, Uchiha's weren't so OP'd and stuff, but it seems that still some people overlook that, because if in Part 1 someone said Byakugan is the strongest Doujutsu and in Part 2 we get introduced into Mangekyou Sharingan, Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan, does that fact still remain?
While Hashirama ended the whole ****ing war, he founded Konoha, he tamed Bijuu's like pets and he fought the Strongest Uchiha ATLEAST on equal term (he could've been stronger high likely)
Tobirama is a genius and he's the one who created Edo Tensei, Orochimaru just stole it and completed it, without Tobirama Madara wouldn't be walking around right now so strong and neither would this war be so intense.
What did Hiruzen do in Part 2? He wasn't even mentioned ONCE, NEVER again was he mentioned as the strongest or whatever, the only thing he's done is watching the Kyuubi with fear while waiting on Minato, a very young person who had to sacrefice his life, Hiruzen is a cocky old shit.
Minato has done everything, fought Tobi, removed Kyuubi from Tobi's control, teleport Kyuubi's Bijuu Bomb away, sealed Kyuubi.
In my eyes Hiruzen is the most useless and pathethic Kage I've ever seen, even Tsunade is more useful then him.

The Databooks list everything about a character that the Manga can't. That's why they're full of things like their History and Hobbies, Abilities and other random things which would never be listed in the Manga.

They're written by Kishimoto specifically for the Manga, and they're just as much fact as the Manga is. The actual line for the strength of evidence would go: Manga > Databook > Anime.

Okay read majority of it and its something ive heard over and over again. Ill agree that the manga and somewhat the databook has made it clear that hiruzen was the strongest hokage. The reason why people doubt this is because majority is hype, if you add the fact that we have gotten stupid hype on hashirama it makes people wonder. Imo hashirama's hype and feats outweighs hiruzen's.

Now i believe hashirama was the strongest, followed by hiruzen. Its definitely between those two. Tobirama and minato are NOT in contention for either 1st or 2nd place, but rather 3rd and 4th respectively
