Hi there, i am right now bored at job and my brain is hyper thinking from it. I am preety disapointet into the threads about the topic who the mother of Sarada is mostly they are fanfapping threads hatfapping threads and rather badly analysed.
So just to give you a warning this might be a long read i dont know how much text will end up writen
So this is a analysis thread of who might be the mother with facts backing it up and basicly making a pro and contra debate.
Let's start, right from the start from chapter 700 where everything started many people made crazy theories about how Sarada does not look like Sakura the most used evidence for that where the Glasses.
But then we got a counter from an interview where Kishimoto explicitly say that Sakura is the mother of Sarada, this is the most solid evidence for the Sakura is mom statement.
Then we get chapter 701, which shows us a suspicion that Sarada had that she does not look like Sakura and then on top of that we get that fake family picture with Taka (Karin) inside.
Sakura is avoiding answers and is playing dumb. This is basicly the start of a real suspision.
Now you are beginning to itch because that Interview seems more like a fake or a delibirate act of confusing the fans.
But it still holds strongly.
Then we get the fact that there is no birth certificate in Konoha and med ninjas avoid to tell Sarada the truth behind her birth.
So it's basicly 3-1 for the Karin theory right now
(glasses and resemblence to Karin, Fake family picture and a weird absence of a father, no paper work of her birth.)
vs
(Kishi interview confirming Sakura as the mother.)
Let's continue.
Then we have the trip to meet Sasuke. In which Naruto tells to Sarada very nice words specially how about Sarada is much like her mother Sakura. This another hint towards the Sakura is the mom theory. So it's 3-2.
But then we have the encounter with Sasuke who almost stabs his daughter, he aswell refuses to answer Saradas questions rather arogantly. Which atleast for me creates another stone on the doubt tower it's 4-2 now.
Then we skip to the latest chapter which makes a DNA test which clearly say's "match" for now i will give this another point to Karin is the mother which makes it 5-2, also the shock on Narutos face and words i will say it is genuine and i will account that to Sakura team 5-3
So just by evidence and basic hints we have a score of 5-3 for Karin side. But this isnt so simple some evidence are stronger then other and there is much more going on.
So basicly i will just skip to hardcore evidence right now and neglect all of it except 2 hardcore evidences and thats
Kishi Interview and DNA test which makes it a score of 1-1.
Now to stuff which isnt directly related but a smart enough reader will create his own interpretation of it.
Let's start with Cho Cho, many of you are to young or just naive to think that she is a pointless character she isnt for comedy there either. Her purpouse in my opinion is to sarcasticly laugh and ridicule the idea that Sarada is doubting who her mother is. Just that with Cho Cho it is extremly obvious who her parents are so we have no doubts but with Sarada it's shrouded in many mysteries. Kishi isnt stupid every character has a purpouse and my interpretation is that Cho Cho is a backup character for Sarada. Cho Cho makes Sarada shine in the spot light.
This is in my opinion a pro for Sakura
The theme of this gaiden is destinctivly clear and that is evolution, it was somewhat a theme in Shippuden aswell with the "next generation surpasses the old one" thing. Here it's just more scientific and clear. In the last chapter it was very well pointed out that one side is striclty thinking of genetics overrulling everything else, the other that the spiritual part is very important too (education, growing up, family, friendship, expiriences, love, hate.....)
What is very interesting is that Sakura is on the spiritual side which makes us again question if she is really her biological mother.
A pro for Karin
So it's still a draw 2-2.
Now come 2 more things i promise.
The validity of the DNA test is not an issue it sayed "Match" thats 100%. What makes me suspicios is that thing suigetsu took as a dna sample of Karin, as i could see it's a umbilecal core of a baby? It leaves the option open that it might have been the cord of Sarada itself this isnt enough in my opinion to question the result so i will leave it be as a evidence. It's just a hinch like Kakashi would say but i believe that in the next chapter or until the end this evidence will be either broken or hardsolidified.
The fact that Karin is alive changes many things or better to say opens up many questions, the most important is if Karin is alive why didnt she raise her theoretical daughter? She obviously seems fine, she would definitivly do everything Sasuke tells her for example move to Konoha a safe envoirmoent for a child. It makes me wonder specialy knowing Karins personality that she would never leave a child of hers to a other girl specially a girl which is competing to Sasukes hearth. But this again is just a hinch.
For me it's still 2-2, we dont have enough evidence to say who Saradas mom really is it does go more for Karin but not enough to say freely and surelly yes that is your mom the same is for Sakura. I personally cant confirm it for any of those two. Hell we are so fixiated to this that there might be a 3rd option that we are overlooking.
The only thing clear is that Sarada is the daughter of Sasuke.
Also a summary of Saradas life:
Sarada was born 12 years ago, the birth is shrouded in mystery not born in Konoha. With no memories of her father she lived 12 years long until she meet him, her father Sasuke Uchia did not recognise her imidiatelly. Her quest to find evidence of who her mother is leads her into dangerous situations.
