Note that I did use the title of an existing anime, but the story is purly of my making. So please enjoy and I hope the title does not cause any problems.

Chapter 1 : Why the rain falls
Kasu: " 'How beautiful it would be if people would be happy to see others happy.' If only the world were so simple..."

Kasu: "My name is Kasuma Asuraki. I perfer to be called Kasu though. Age 16, born on the 13th of the month of September. And I am starting my Junior year of highschool today."
*Kasu makes his way down stairs after slipping into his school uniform and packing his things into his bag*

Kasu: "Alright. I think I got everything..."
*Kasu stated as he slightly walked down the stairs*
Momiko: "Ooooh my little boy is growing up so fast!"
*She says as she glomped Kasu from the side, squeezing her cheek against his*
Kasu: "That would be my mother, Momiko Asuraki... shes always been a clumsy air head. She can't make herself a meal without risking setting the house on fire. But I still love her, she has kept me busy after all..."
Momiko: "Your already a Senior in highschool! I can't believe it!"
*She squeeled as she continued to hug Kasu*
*Kasu slightly shrugs her off and rubs his head*
Kasu: "Listen carefully Mother... I'm a Junior, not a Senior. Do you remember the difference?"
*Kasu asked very slowly, hoping she will process the words*
*As Kasu suspected, she simply continued smiling while hugging him*
Momiko: "I hope you have a wonderful day at school. I remember that it was in highschool where I first met your father. It was such a romantic day!"
*Kasu slightly clenched his teeth as his father was mentioned*
Momiko: "Oooooh and it was during the Graduation Ceremony that your father purposed to me! It was so romant-"
Kasu: "Enough!"
*Kasu shouted as he reached his limit of her going on about his father*
*A moment of silence passed*
Momiko: "Oh right. I'm sorry Dear. I forgot... anyway. Have a GRAND day at school, okay?"
*She said as she tilted her head to the side slightly and smiled with her eyes closed*
*Kasu rubbed his head with his eyes closed as well*
Kasu: "Uh... yeah. I'll see you later. And try to eat your breakfast before it gets too cold. Its on the table. Later."
*Kasu said while slipping on his shoes then left the house*

-On the way to school-
Kasu: "The one thing I hate more then anything, is anything conserning my Father, in any way... he lied to me, after making a promise he clearly wasn't allowed to break..."
*As Kasu walked up the hill leading to his school, another person rushes up behind him and smacks his back a little*
Yurako: "Heeeey there Asuraki! What are you up to this fine morning?"
*Yurako asked with the largest smile ever*
Kasu: "That would be Yurako Tasuraku. He has the most insainly large smile in history, and he has a bad habbit of asking obvious questions..."
"I'm heading to school, like you and, if you haven't noticed, everyone else that is taking this path..."
*Kasu stated coldly to Yurako*
Yurako: "Heheh, good point. I thought you were going to skip the Grand Opening Ceremony though?"
*Yurako said as he walked side by side with Kasu*
Kasu: "I was... but I don't have anything better to do."
*Kasu said as he looked up at the sky slightly with one hand in his pocket and the other hand holding the strap to his bag over his shoulder*
*Yurako looked at Kasu then looked up at the sky with him*
Yurako: "You liar. Your actually coming because Mizuna is going to be there."
*Yurako teased as he lightly elbowed Kasu*
*Kasu simply continued looking into the sky still walking with one hand in pocket and the other holding his bag's strap over his shoulder*
Kasu: "Maybe your right. Me and her are childhood friends after all..."
*Kasu said as he stood day dreaming while walking*
-First School Bell Rings-
Yurako: "Well there's the bell. I'm going on ahead, See you at the Ceremony!"
*Yurako said as he started to rush on ahead while Kasu simply continued walking toward the school*

-School Courtyard-
*Kasu is looking at the sky, seeing black clouds slowly moving in*
Kasu: "Looks like rain..."
*Kasu stated to himself as he stood staring at the sky*
*Suddenly a girl walked up in front of him holding her bag at her side, she is half the size of Kasu*
Mizuna: "Hello Kasuma. I thought you were skipping the Opening Ceremony. I'm glad you came after all."
*Mizuna said as she smiled tilting her head*
*Kasu looked down from the sky and at her*
Kasu: "Oh, hey Mizuna."
"This, is Mizuna Oshimasu. Her family owns a wealthy business. Shes also the smartest person in the school, she even out-ranks most of the teachers, and shes also the student body presedent. And to top it off, my childhood friend."
*Mizuna slightly leaned into Kasu, staring into his eyes*
Mizuna: "Hey have you been day dreaming like usual lately?"
*Mizuna asked with a worried tone in her voice*
Kasu: "Uh... yeah. Its nothing though. We better get inside before the first class starts."
*Kasu said as he rubbed his head*
Mizuna: "Alright, if you say so..."
*She said still a bit worried as she walked into the school*
*Kasu took a couple steps toward the school doors but then stopped to take another moment look at the sky, then he continued his way into the school*

-Home Room-
*Kasu makes his way through the crowd of students to an open desk in the back corner, away from the rest of the students then sat down and stared out the window waiting for class to begin*
Kasu: "So, here I am. Starting a new year. In the same school. Same town. Wearing the same uniform. And seeing all the same faces as I did last year. This place is so simple... its almost boring..."
*Kasu thought to himself while sitting looking out the window, watching the rain clouds role in*
Yurako: "Looks like rain..."
*Yurako said, catching Kasu off guard seeing as that's exactly what he said in the courtyard*
Kasu: "Huh? Oh, yeah. Looks like it..."
*Kasu said with little to no interest in making conversation*
Yurako: "Listen Asuraki. We've been friends since Freshmen year. Try opening up a little more with me bro. We're buds. We need to learn more about each other if we are going to help one another out."
*Yurako said as he pulled up a chair and set backwards in it*
Kasu: "I tend to avoid people... you know that, I know that, Mizuna knows that, everyone knows that..."
*Kasu stated as he continued staring out the window*
Yurako: "Your such a pain in the-"
*Yurako started saying before he was cut off by the teacher*
Home-Room Teacher: "Alright everyone, take a seat. Our Student Presedent will be walking you all through this years expectations and requirements. So listen carefully if you want to make it onto your Senior year."
*The teacher went on, with hardly no one bothering to pay attention, Kasu included*
*The teacher then began to go on about class schedules, lunch breaks, hallway rules and a couple other things then took a step aside for Mizuna to step in*
Mizuna: "Hello everyone. I think most of you remember me from last year. And if you don't remember me, then I'm sure I remember you. Its my job as the student body presedent to make sure you all have what you need to make it through the year. It is also my job to make sure you all keep to the nice simple rules of our school. So if any of you have any questions, concerns or requests, please talk to me or put in a question/convern/request note into the Student Council Room drop-box and we will go through it as soon as we can."
*Mizuna explained and continued onto discusing the rules of the school and other things*
*By the time Mizuna was finished, Home-room had ended and everyone was pulling out their lunches*
*Mizuna approached Kasu and then stood at the side of his desk looking at him while he looked out the window*
Mizuna: "Hey, what's up? You don't seem very... happy today. Are you not feeling well? Or, are you tired?"
*Mizuna asked with her worried toned voice again*
*Kasu took a quick look at her then back out the window*
Kasu: "I'm fine..."
*Kasu said as he stared out the window at the rain clouds rolling in closer and closer*
Mizuna: "I know your not alright Kasuma... after all... today is the day of your father's-"
*Mizuna went on to say before she stopped herself in shock noticing she was touching a subject that is best left alone*
Mizuna: "s-Sorry..."
*Mizuna said with her head down slightly*
Kasu: "Its fine..."
*Kasu said with no emotion*
*Mizuna lifted her head and then gave a slightly angry look*
Mizuna: "No, its not alright. I'm worried about you Kasuma."
*Mizuna said with a worried tone of voice but a slightly angry face*
Kasu: "Just drop it..."
*Kasu said without emotion again*
Mizuna: "No. I won't just drop it. Your letting this eat away at you. I understand your father made you a very important promise to you, but its not like he tried to break it. You need to move-"
Kasu: "I said drop it!"
*Kasu shouted as he stood from his chair smashing his hands on his desk*
Kasu: "That man made me a promise... he made me a promise I was holding him to for every passing moment he wasn't at home... and he broke that promise knowing me and my mother were waiting for him... I hate him... I will never forgive him... and that's final..."
*Kasu protested as he bumped passed Mizuna and stormed out of the class room and began to leave the school*

-Outside School Gate-
*Mizuna gave chase after Kasu, eventually catching up to him*
Mizuna: "Kasuma stop! I'm not done talking with you!"
*Mizuna demanded as she continued to follow behind him*
Kasu: "Well I am done talking. I am sick of everyone pushing me about this. I'm done."
*Kasu said coldly as he began to walk faster*
Mizuna: "Why do you hate your father for a promise he wanted to keep but couldn't help but break? Its not like he wanted to die! Your going to let his soul suffer because you can't understand!?"
*Mizuna shouted as she continued to follow behind him*
Kasu: "To put it bluntly, yes. He left, and promised me and my mother he would return, and we would continue to be a happy family. But now look, my mother is constently talking about him, and when she thinks i'm asleep, shes busy crying herself to sleep every night. Which puts me in an emotional situation. I can't even cry anymore, because I am always busy letting my mother do it for me. Hes a bastard for what hes done."
*Kasu said as he began to walk a little faster*
Mizuna: "Kasuma you cant hold back your tears and use the excuse that your mother cries for you! We all know your upset over this. And you need to stop holding it back from everyone! Stop acting like a rock and become a flower for once!"
*Mizuna shouted as she rushed up to him and grabbed his hand, forcing him to stop in his tracks*
*Kasu begain to try and pull himself away from her, but Mizuna held on as tight as she possibly could not letting him go, he continued to struggle, finally forcing himself to trip and fall to the ground against a wall behind him*
Kasu: "What would you know...? I have to be the rock... I have to support my mother... someone has to be there for her, to wipe her tears. What good am I to her if I am too busy wipping my own tears!?"
*Kasu shouted as he smashed his hand that wasn't being held by Mizuna into the wall behind him*
Mizuna: "That's what your friends are for Kasuma... we're here to help you. We want to help you... I want to help you... So please... let us... let me... help you..."
*Mizuna said as she sat in front of him*
*As they both sat there, it began to rain*
*Mizuna looked up at the sky as it began to rain, then she looked back at Kasu and he has his head down and his hair is covering his eyes*
Mizuna: "k-Kasuma?"
*Mizuna asked worried as she looked down a little trying to see his eyes*
*As she looked closely, she saw water was streaming down his face, but she was unsure if it was tears or the rain*
Mizuna: "Kasuma?"
*Mizuna asked again*
Kasu: "Why... why... why why why... why... why did he break his promise...?"
*Kasu asked again and again as he kept his head down*
Kasu: "Why why why why!?"
*Kasu shouted as he lifted his head up, and Mizuna noticed that he was crying for the first time since his father's funural*
*Mizuna then moved closer to him and wrapped him in a hug, catching him by surprise, with tears still streaming down his face, he looked shocked*
Mizuna: "This is what I'm here for... I'm here to help you... to be a shoulder for you to cry on when this day comes around... I want you to always know that I am here for you..."
*Mizuna said softly as she continued to hug Kasu*
*Kasu's eyes widdened slightly, then he closed them and the tears continued to steam down his face as he hugged her back*

Kasu: "And this... is why the rain falls..."
