That said, i'm not too passionate about this point anymore. Not as much as it seems anyway, there's small moments like you described and i'll admit I read the 'You really are annoying' dialogue wrong but ultimately they just seem like a genuinely bad match.

The main nail in the coffin is that we don't know nearly enough what justified Sasuke's 14 year long trip more than his clan which should be #1. He should know how difficult it is to be brought up in a broken home and how much stuff like that matters to Uchiha. With his role of apparent leadership I refuse to believe a department for looking into Kaguya couldn't have been made. Why did he decide it was all for him when this is when people needed him most (also himself)

Also that Sakura just never seemed to GET Sasuke or any of his goals beyond "Come back to us Sasuke!" Even at the end in the panel you showed before Sasuke genjutsu'd her Sakura was talking with the same comprehension she would've had at the end of Part 1 when it came to him. I don't think she understood what Sasuke's revolution even was never mind her place in it or how it affected her opinion of him. Sasuke just doesn't need somebody like that around, he needs somebody who can console him, keeps him from going too far and understands him.

No such female in the NV exists but then I don't understand why Kishi went ahead and immediately focused on Sasuke being a bad father in Gaiden with so much detail considering all the dodgy-at-best buildup.

Once again, this is Sasuke’s way of showing Sakura that he STILL remembers what happened between them so long ago, just like she does.

Yea this is obvious.

Then in typical Sasuke fashion, he leaves her unconscious to protect her but this time to leave her with that lasting impression in case something were to happen to him. Almost like, “If I die or something else tragic happens, I just want you to know that I still thought about you and all the moments we shared.”

Your interpretation of my thread is really facile because your restricting it to romance, plus your making Sasukes actions seem hallow.

why is Sasuke thinking of his family at this point? Kakashi is talking about Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke which makes Sasuke specifically thinking of family, not romance. Well Sasuke has already made it clear he doesn’t think of her romantically, however this supports that fact that instead of thinking of her in friendship sense, its a family sense.

I think I could push on more but my train of thought is wavering a little.

I’m not sure if its fact but I think Itachi put a genjutsu on Sasuke when after the massacre. Akin to Sasuke putting a genjutsu on Sakura after his betrayal. A weak connection but there.

Sakura has always looked up to Sasuke’s to be acknowledged by Sasuke particularly. Not just as a love interest but as a ninja. This is similar to how Sasuke has always looked up and wanted to be acknowledged by his brother.

It is because of this thought process and connection, that led him to not kill Sakura but instead remove her from the momentary equation.

I agree with a lot of this but here's my interjection.

When it came to Sakura comprehending Sasukes "revolutiobend, there wasn't much to comprehend. Sasuke made his intentions of killing the present leadership (hokages) then making the rest of the world bend, that within itself was enough for Sakura to spin on.

But as far as Sakura not understanding Sasuke, I 10000000% agree!

Kishi didn't devople their relationship enough for us to actually think different.

Well Sasuke is half of SasuSaku but that's true. This guy said it well.

All of these scans were prior to Sasuke letting go of his Curse of Hatred. He clearly changed as a person after admitting defeat to Naruto. The Sasuke in those scans is not the Sasuke that Sakura eventually married.

But we'll probably never get to see how Sasuke and Sakura pulled together their relationship between chapter 699 and 700. He obviously went through some period of atonement/remorse/redemption/whatever, and maybe Sakura remained there for him and helped him through it.

There's literally years of potentially interesting development and discovery for this relationship that we'll never get to see, unless Kishi decides he wants someone to write a book about it. And even then, people will cry "Filler!" and pay it no mind, because such a book (if it was a good, legit romance story committed to exploring SasuSaku as a couple) likely wouldn't involve Lord Godsuke soloing anyone's fave.

But since I didn't get into Naruto for the romantic subplots clumsily scratched into the surface of the manga, this really isn't a topic that I'm much equipped to delve into, so I'll just drop my $0.02 here and leave it at that.

You can't tell me that the manga has no type of contingency based around Sasuke & Sakura's relationship. I kind of feel like not just you but many other members are limiting this to romance solely. Sasuke with out a doubt viewed Naruto & Sakura as family in the manga but he never displayed any romantic feelings for Sakura until ch. 700, their romance like you stated had to have been birthed off screen during their travels. But the point of my thread is that Sasukes actions and reactions towards Sakura weren't one-dimensional and without reason.

Blah..

Sakura tried to kill him first and almost succeeded but she had weak resolve, while Sasuke on the other hand didn't.

Chain of events: (1) Sasuke tries to kill Sakura but Kakashi stops him. (2) Sakura tries to kill Sasuke but she stops herself. (3) Sasuke tries to kill Sakura but Naruto intervened (4).....

But at the end of the day...
