its funny how amertersu went from incredibly overpowered, burning through fire, Lightning(whihc is around 50,000 degrees farenhiet btw) and the fire toad's stomach, and then its powered gets altered unable to burn karin, whihc if it was that hot it would've incinerated her.

its weird how such a haxed jutsu can be used in the series can be so inconsistent in power. one moment it is hotter than 50,000 degrees, the next it is only 100 degrees.

Controlling flames could also be related in controlling the temperature, I don't know that and YOU dont know that, but that could be a possible explanation.

I've noticed this before. Kishi make op things and then downgrade them because they were too op. Pay attention to that 4 tails naruto vs orochimaru fight. Naruto 4 tails seems op as ****, it even has more "taijutsu" feats than naruto KCM(except for speed). Not even naruto BM showed this strength in a chakra arm punch.

Actually they burn out once it's completely burned whatever it is touching to absolutely nothing.

OT: Yeah I don't like it.. But I like the way it looks whenever Sasuke uses his EMS for the first time and Makes it into a symbol of the Uzumaki Clan. Looks all cool and stuff. ^_^

Not really. The principe is simple. Amaterasu burns fast depending on the amount of time the user focuses on the target. When the flames are left on their own, they burn ridiculously slower. Your Itachi example explains it perfectly. When Itachi focused on the frog stomach, it burned through it, but when they were left on their own later, it practically did nothing than just staying there and waiting til Jiraya sealed it away

its almost ok to assume as sasuke was extinguishing amateratsu from Karin, that it was losing heat.

but the amateratsu rumors could be called hype, just like 1010 never missing her target.
