Honestly, I've had this topic on my mind ever since I read the comments on Meghan Trainor's - "All About The Bass" music video. There was this argument saying between fat gain being put on the food, rather than the person.

While I was thinking about it, I began to disagree. Honestly, I feel that one cannot blame weight gain on corporations like McDonalds or Burger King just because they provide us with foods like they do. It's not their job to always sell healthy food, even though they should try a little harder with that, if their focus is burgers and fries. Blaming them is kind of similar to just covering the truth that the population of America who are considered obese, and do not have any type of health condition causing them to remain obese, is their fault.

The real thing that I feel America needs to realize is simple, moderation and motivation.

MODERATION: Being that our world is starting to become more aware of how fast food effects us, we should start focusing on moderation. What I've noticed in my community is that not every one wants to work-out no matter how much the First Lady tries to encourage it, and weight loss would only be half the battle because people can quickly snap back into eating habits just as quickly as drug addicts can relapse. Teaching people how to eat junk food they like maybe twice a month or once a week will be better for obese people.

MOTIVATION: Now, weight loss can be encouraged. Let's face it, some people won't do something unless there is some reward involve and, for some, looking and feeling healthy isn't enough. How about to start off, one could work out for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and enjoy the weekend. Probably even go out to McDonalds which can lead back into moderation and using it as a reward.

That's all I'm really going to type, but I just wanted some opinions on what you all thought and why cause I'm still thinking of this.

Ugh, exerting myself by doing more than occassionally changing the position I'm sitting in and moving my hands to type and not eating foods full of sugars and salts? My can of soda, Oreos, and I say no ****ing thanks. Not worth it.

1 state in America food can feed another country

I've read it would only cost around 30 billion dollars to end world hunger, but my country is too greedy to do that.
for proof. And it spends 737 billion on "defense" every year. On topic: The reason we have this weight problem is because of two reasons IMO: 1, Our Physical education is crap, High schoolers only run 1 mile a day or less. 2, Our food industry is mostly over processed food.

I saw we close down Mc donalds!!
Nah I'm just kidding, but people should learn to control their diet, and they should exercise regularly

Food doesn't seem to rot or decay over here in America
I bought a box of breakfast sandwiches at the store and left one outside and it never rotted or decayed
You make a point but I think if food over here was made better and not made to have a longer shelf life that could cut down on weight gain

IMO food isn't to blame, that's just people trying to justify their poor self control. I sit next to a morbidly obese guy at work that reckons he struggles with his weight. Yet like most days he drank 2L of Pepsi, at a bag of crisps then ordered hot fries and gravy - all before lunch time today. That's not struggling that's just being fat.

It's really not that difficult, just burn enough calories to put yourself into negative values (after factoring in maintenance) and hey presto you lose weight. You can't expect to lose weight if you don't put effort in.

TL:DR - food isn't to blame people are just lazy...

Lawl, I went to Burger King once in Chicago and all I saw were obese people. And it was only like 9 AM or something.
Anyways, Americans just need some guiding .. eating once in a while is okay, but stuffing your face with 3 burgers and large fries every day ain't good.

Whenever I eat... I eat junk food. And it doesn't add anything to my weight, it just goes directly to my heart. Oh cholesterol you babe.

Once people get fat they would rather complain about it instead of actually doing something. They expect to lose weight at a fast rate, but they can't; it's something they have to work for. But if they don't actually want to work for it, they try to buy pills, etc. Its as Gatsuuga already said, its because they're lazy.

Eh, I have started to notice it, grading upwards all I see is shit fvck short fatass children passing by.
And think wdf are they being fed, its literally 3 fat ones to 1 average one.

I'm not fat or anything close to that but I srsly would hold a lot of the blame on the food.

I find it extremely hard to get obese no matter how much I eat, and it's literally been year after year we've been taught this during school.

The food prymiad in like 1st?
All the damn posters about healthy eating in the cafeteria.
Every about it..
Hell it's even on tv.
One can't ignore that all, only choose to ignore it and contunie being lazy.

I pin all my blame towards parents who know no better or just is going for the cheap shit.

Honestly I literally eat junkfood 85% of the time, I know not to overdue this shit.
But when you actually want to find whats actually healthy, it's extremely tough.
I've tried, and thought to myself "WDF, idk what half this shit is, or where to find it"
Then again it's far too often I see fat guys say "reach me that" even when it's literally a little more than a feet away..
I also blame false advertising.

Don't take me srsly as I'm srsly retarded on this topic and have little or no knowledge.

Just don't eat junk food everyday.

Cut out the extra and late night snacks.

And exercise and run :)

The main problem is a lot of Americans don't think healthy food can taste good.

That and also.....

In America, food is extremely cheap compared to where I live.
When I went on vacation there I noticed that most of the time purchasing junk food or even going to a restaurant like Olive Garden or Red Lobster was actually cheaper than making your own food.

To put it simple, eat better and exercise more. Fast food in general now has become slightly cheaper if not cheaper than regular store bought groceries, which is even worse since those foods have to be prepared and then cooked. Fast food nowadays in America is almost too easy to access in this work-stressed environment. A lot of families work a 9-5 job and don't feel like cooking and then head over to a fast food restaurant or bring it home. Not to mention fast foods will not keep someone nourished as long as a cooked meal. But I digress, the main thing is to eat in moderation and exercise more even if that's just more walking, bending, jogging or basic activity. Although this is just my thoughts on the matter....

Fast foods are cheap, you can get a burger for a dollar and some bucks. So sometimes its peoples only option because the are on a low budget/income.

Maybe i am being an *******, but these are lazy people who happen to get fat because of lack of their own self control and they have too many. The food they consume for making themselves even more fat can feed millions of people in need. Being the ******* myself i have near zero sympathy for them. Either they learn to solve their own problems (which can be done by little effort like compared to many problems) or learn not to say "we huv fatty problum so who to blame????"

I am neither the nicest person nor most respinsible one. But there is a limit how and what can a person bicker for.
