Even a kunai stab to the heart, or rasengan to the head by definition is one shot.

exactly the same damn thing as kunai.

if you get a direct hit to the heart by kunai you die.but of course Kishi has to make up something, anything to give the weapon a down fall, everyone could have died if only they didn't deflect or dodge it.

so kunai=amaterasu.

But that's exactly why we know it's a one-shot jutsu.

Everytime Amaterasu hits a major character, Kishi has to think of a way out of it for them; because otherwise, it would kill them in a single hit!

Basically, the fact that everytime a major character is hit by Amaterasu they get some way out of it, means that it is in fact a one hit, one kill jutsu, since Kishi doesn't want main characters dying off.

that is the vaguest logic i have ever heard. Based on that, rasengan is a one hit kill because any major character naruto threw it at had to defend instead of stand there and tank the hit. Just because a character doesn't stand there and bask in the flame, doesnt mean it is instakill, of course being fire if you stand there it will burn you up but it's not like kishi writes up some plot hole to keep major characters alive when its used. Ay got hit with it and cut off his own arm, which for a hard ass like him is a logical move, its not like it was on the level of kishi casting izanami on kabuto because he was too OP, they dont die from it because they either have the speed, skill, or general badassery to counter or dodge it.

Yes it is. IMO it is one of the most lethal techniques there is. If one doesn't see it coming or is extremely fast like A & Minato, there is really no way out it. But I would still pick Kamui any day.
