It's Naruto... Like cmon, he isn't dead lmao. And Kawaki never specifically says Naruto is dead. He only says that he will send Boruto with his father.... Meaning he could be in another dimension. Those dimensional powers could somehow be linked to his tats or something.... Idk I just won't believe Naruto is dead... I doubt anyone is strong enough to kill him. If he did die it had to be through sacrifice... That's the only explanation.

BTW where do you guys think sasuke is? I have a hard time believing the leaf has been destroyed without sasuke being dead too. I know for a fact nobody should be strong enough to go against his rinnegan now that he has mastered it. He's either dead or pursuing Naruto in the other dimension and left Boruto responsible for the leaf

By the placing of the meaningless fashforward, i would say it's meant to make us think he's dead, or is going to die, so we can get a lovely surprise when he doesn't die. Or at least, the first time. If he isn't actually dead in the flashforward, he will be by the end of the manga.

He doesn't have to be dead to be taken out of the picture, in the movie he was taken to another dimension so that Boruto could be the MC. And Hokages don't have to fight every villain that's a threat to the village, that's what Jonin are there to do.

He isn't dead just like you said trapped in another dimension, or maybe the guilt of the village being destroyed has gotten to him so he decided to leave.

Well Naruto is pretty much cooped out there and doesn't get to leave unless he has to.

It seems like Boruto had another tantrum which not only defaced the entire mountain side but the entire city as well.
