I agree with the Chopper part.
Ussop really redeems himself through his epic moments.

People citing all this shit Usopp did like it means you can't dislike his personality.

Stood up to GOD Enel, not just ones, but TWICE!

I mean jesus, first he blocks Enels attack, with his own body, to protect Nami and gets his ass handed to him.
THEN as he wakes up from electrical shock, he climbs up the air ship with Sanji for round two, ones again puts himself between Nami and the dude whom calls himself god, distracts him, gets Nami off the ship, stays behind to climb back up for round three gets Sanji to, and at last jumps off the flying ship with Sanji over the shoulder to safe all of their lifes!

Then there was when they all fled from Kuma and he carried Zoro on his bloody back, Zoro demanding that Usopp should put him down and Usopp refused.

There is of course the entire Perona fight, and several cases on Thriller Bark where he turned around to try and aid Nami and Chopper while they were stuck together, he was the one figuring out how to chase Zombies away with fire.

In Alabasta Usopp was the one to stand more up for himself and inspire Chopper to do the same saying. "Some-times a man just need to do these things, otherwise who is he to call himself a brave warrior of the sea??"
And that's after he had all-ready gotten an alu bat to the face!

Heck, even at his very very first introduction back at Syrup, Usopp decided to stand ready, all alone on the single path from the beach to the village, where a whole bunch of vicious pirates were headed, and he was willing to face them all alone, head on, to protect his village from them.
A complete no win scenario, but he didn't leave before Zoro convinced him he would just have been in the way if he stayed..

Usopp got balls!

Usopp, is this person whom faces up to no win scenarios.. all these fights he couldn't possible win, shouldn't possible win. But because of pride he goes for it any-way.. and half the time gets his ass handed to him, but.. then there is also half the time he actually wins over these odds where he shouldn't win. Because he is able to adapt, fight with smarts and creativity, stand firm and fight at all, and pursues his dream to become brave, to the last. And that's why I find him so ridicoulesly inspirational. He overcomes these odds, these self doubt as he is deeply aware of his own short comings and succeeds by the end of the day, I get so happy every time I see it.

Which I guess why him running in the Dresrossa arch felt so much out of place, it felt more than just regressing it actually.. felt kind of out of character.
Good thing he came back and stood up for himself, taking all the beatings as he usually does in a fight, and took it with a pretty raised head afterwards.
Good on you Usopp, good on you.

Also without him the Straw hat flag would for-ever have looked like shit XD

Why do people hate on Chopper? He offers some adorable small jokes when Zoro is being all protective over him, and in this ship where every-body gets hurt all the freaking time, a doctor seems pretty damn essential. He is doing his job and he does it well, certainly not useless.
Okay granted he doesn't get as much character development as others in fact.. I would have to say the only three whom gets to have any real character development out-side of their initial introduction would be Luffy, Usopp and Zoro in that order.
But I just like hanging around with these people because, well I like them.

The only one I personally don't care much for is.. well it's Nami, I find her to be to inconsistent in her traits so I don't care to much about about her as a person.
Except for when she shares a scene with Usopp.. I got no idea what it is, there's just.. some-thing about their chemistry that works and make both characters shine when-ever they are together.

Yup and I just remembered he helped Luffy make the Thor attack in the movie. He shot that weapon into the clouds then it stated thundering.

Usopp, was my favorite character all the way until Little Garden. I was roaring and rooting for his change all the way until then till he started getting annoying. Then he officially became one of my least favorites during the Luffy fight.

But Chopper... Chopper is awesome, one of my fav Strawhats.

Usopp is one of my favorite characters... ;_;
and Chopper is so kawaii— and badass when he eats his rubber ball— and funny when he hides the wrong way.
