Sooo in the spirit of occupying time threw randomness, am I the only one who dislikes Usopp and Chopper thru out 90% of the series(mostly the anime, tho they can be equally dislikable to me in the manga)

I like them both. Usopp, especially towards the end of the series with all the amazing character development he is set to get, will gain a lot of popularity. I dare say he has the potential to get into the list of Top 3 SHs for most people by the time the series ends.

I adore both of them and actually, usopp is my favourite character in the entire anime/manga

I both find him to be incredible relatable AND incredible inspirational.

Some-how I can't help but view him as some-one whom both represents the worst and the best in ordinary human beings, but wins because he overcome the worst aspects of himself to rise to occasion and be the best person he can be out of sheer willpower, pride and loyalty.

He is an ordinary human whom overcomes odds and becomes what he always dreamed about becoming, slowly but surely, by going for it.
In spite of crippling self doubt, in spite of what some could call severe depression (You can't make me more negative than I all-ready am.. lol.)
He rises and do what needs to be done any-way, and as long as his nakamas or self pride is concerned, he will rise up. And that makes things seems so much more inspirational to me.

Also I would never ever call him a true coward, as it just happens, him and Nami are the only two able to make any kind of reality check on the ship.

Also I have a thing for gadget builders and story tellers, and Usopp is both! it's win all around with this character for me :)

I don't really have some opinion about Chopper. But i really like Usopp and his cowardly personality.

For me there are 3 straw hats that I don't really care about: Robin, Chopper and Nami

I don't hate them, I just don't think about them

Godsopp is nearly a top 10 character. Luv him so much

You aren't alone, though I personally don't agree, I have seen quite a few people express their distaste for Chopper and Usopp(especially Usopp) although I don't understand why, he's a character meant for comic relief and when he gives that people talk trash about how much of a wuss he is focusing solely on the joke material and ignoring everything he's done over the series.

Kept the Merry floating until Water 7 without him they'd never have gotten Sunny.

Made Nami's weapon for her without Usopp there'd be no Weather Wizard Nami.

Was the only one thinking to bring home dials from Skypiea(granted Oda seems to have ignored these ever since with the exception of Nami's weapon upgrade)

Was the only SH brave enough to stand up to Luffy for something he believed in(you can argue whether it was worth f=doing, I don't think it was, but you still should respect conviction)

Took out the WG flag without a second guess.

Beat a Fishman. PRE Time Skip.

I know there's more but I can't think of stuff.

Chopper is cool and ****ing adorable, don't you ever insult Chopper.

And Usopp, eh, I understand that like the others, he plays a pivotal part, but I don't care for him.

Chopper is too much of a baby considering how strong he could be, plus his new points are gay.. one looks like he has a tire inside of his neck.. and I've never really liked Ussop.. ever after the TS he's still a baby.

Stood up to GOD Enel, not just ones, but TWICE!

I mean jesus, first he blocks Enels attack, with his own body, to protect Nami and gets his ass handed to him.
THEN as he wakes up from electrical shock, he climbs up the air ship with Sanji for round two, ones again puts himself between Nami and the dude whom calls himself god, distracts him, gets Nami off the ship, stays behind to climb back up for round three gets Sanji to, and at last jumps off the flying ship with Sanji over the shoulder to safe all of their lifes!

Then there was when they all fled from Kuma and he carried Zoro on his bloody back, Zoro demanding that Usopp should put him down and Usopp refused.

There is of course the entire Perona fight, and several cases on Thriller Bark where he turned around to try and aid Nami and Chopper while they were stuck together, he was the one figuring out how to chase Zombies away with fire.

In Alabasta Usopp was the one to stand more up for himself and inspire Chopper to do the same saying. "Some-times a man just need to do these things, otherwise who is he to call himself a brave warrior of the sea??"
And that's after he had all-ready gotten an alu bat to the face!

Heck, even at his very very first introduction back at Syrup, Usopp decided to stand ready, all alone on the single path from the beach to the village, where a whole bunch of vicious pirates were headed, and he was willing to face them all alone, head on, to protect his village from them.
A complete no win scenario, but he didn't leave before Zoro convinced him he would just have been in the way if he stayed..

Usopp got balls!

Usopp, is this person whom faces up to no win scenarios.. all these fights he couldn't possible win, shouldn't possible win. But because of pride he goes for it any-way.. and half the time gets his ass handed to him, but.. then there is also half the time he actually wins over these odds where he shouldn't win. Because he is able to adapt, fight with smarts and creativity, stand firm and fight at all, and pursues his dream to become brave, to the last. And that's why I find him so ridicoulesly inspirational. He overcomes these odds, these self doubt as he is deeply aware of his own short comings and succeeds by the end of the day, I get so happy every time I see it.

Which I guess why him running in the Dresrossa arch felt so much out of place, it felt more than just regressing it actually.. felt kind of out of character.
Good thing he came back and stood up for himself, taking all the beatings as he usually does in a fight, and took it with a pretty raised head afterwards.
Good on you Usopp, good on you.

Also without him the Straw hat flag would for-ever have looked like shit XD

Why do people hate on Chopper? He offers some adorable small jokes when Zoro is being all protective over him, and in this ship where every-body gets hurt all the freaking time, a doctor seems pretty damn essential. He is doing his job and he does it well, certainly not useless.
Okay granted he doesn't get as much character development as others in fact.. I would have to say the only three whom gets to have any real character development out-side of their initial introduction would be Luffy, Usopp and Zoro in that order.
But I just like hanging around with these people because, well I like them.

The only one I personally don't care much for is.. well it's Nami, I find her to be to inconsistent in her traits so I don't care to much about about her as a person.
Except for when she shares a scene with Usopp.. I got no idea what it is, there's just.. some-thing about their chemistry that works and make both characters shine when-ever they are together.

Usopp is one of my favorite characters in OP, if not the favorite. >_>

He maybe is a coward and he maybe is a liar, but he is a man who won't leave his friends because of that. He is a man who will overcome his fears and his own weakness because of his friends.
That's enough for me to love him, really...

And, damn! Chopper is damn adorable!!! <3 <3 <3
