You could go more in showing how Sakura's perception of Naruto has changed. Right now it could go either way, because the two of them have the most screen time, but Kishi does love twists.

Where should I start? In all honesty, it's their chemestry that made me stick to them, how they have grown together, how they have had their backs, cried together, laughed together, spent time together, saw Sakura growing into this nice young lady because she wanted to help Naruto in getting Sasuke back and support him the best she could, his unrequited love status and the things he's done for her, her tormented heart, if I may say like this, when it comes to him all that development.
It would be very much to talk about NaruSaku and I really don't have the time, however, if you wonder why? Mainly because of this:

I don't think showing concern for your teammate is any sign or development for a romantic relationship. What about the moments where she worries over Sasuke and thinks about him. Not to mention her heartfelt confession to him and the one she gave Naruto.

I really want to know your standpoint on the confession. Do you think she was lying to Naruto or telling him the truth. I know this is somewhat off-topic and I apologize, but you may just be the last narusaku fan that can engage in a coherent discussion.

But that's the thing. Their relationship isn't just about romance. It's about friendship, support, romance here and there, not too obvious and overall all the components of a relationship shounen-wise.
Those moments are out of love, but as Kishi said, back in part one, it's a selfish love. She didn't do it for Sasuke's good, up to a certain point, she did it because she wanted to be acknowledged by him. Similar a bit to Hinata's case. And I know people won't like it, but it's the truth. Even Hinata said she was selfish. However, her selfishness stopped in the latest chapters and she got Naruto's acknowledgment. This is how is going to work with SS as well. She got to the part where she wanted him to be happy and ok with Team 7 and she'll probably get his acknowledgement as well, just like Hinata. Funny thing people didn't get by now is that SS and NH are redherrings for SK and NS. They both mirror each other.
Sakura's confession to Sasuke was out of desperation to stop him leaving Konoha. Same as Hinata. Was out of desperation to not see him get killed so she decided to get herself killed but before that, confess. Same with Sakura. Under layers that were overlooked. But anyway. Let's get past this to the next one.

If she was honest? Definitely. If you would've seen their development throughout the manga, yes, Sakura has come to love Naruto. Now, romantically or not, debatable, of course. But she does love him. She even gave the reasons in which Kishi, in a subtle way, was telling look back at their development but via Sakura's pov. He has been been there for her, comforted her, made her feel safe. There are manga panels proving that. So why do people doubt it? Oh, because she lied Naruto about the real decision Konoha has made in order to protect his emotional status? That doesn't mean she was lying to him about the confession.
Because Naruto said that she loves Sasuke and that he hates people who lie to themselves? That doesn't make Sakura's confession false. Sakura's confession must be seen strictly from Sakura's point of view, not from other character's point of view because it's her confession. She said that she matured and there's no point in loving a criminal. Tell me? Was she lying? Is there a point for loving a criminal? No. She said that Sasuke keeps getting further and further from her and makes her suffer or something along the lines? Well, isn't that true? When was the last time we saw Sakura being genuinely happy when it comes to Sasuke? Never! She is all the time in pain and has a lowered and sad facial expression.
So once again, she was right.
The lying part was about the decision Konoha made, not about Sakura's confession. People seem to not get the difference there.
She wasn't able to kill him. Indeed, she wasn't because, she still loves him. Attention! Loves him doesn't equal she's still in love with him, either. She ought to protect him along with Naruto, back in Part 1. Now she thought she would be ready to kill the man she sought to protect and she wasn't ready. But where does it mean that it has to be out of romantical love?
Naruto wasn't able to lay a single inch of finger on Sasuke until he tried to kill Sakura. So why is Sakura exactly hated because she couldn't kill Sasuke when Naruto couldn't do it either? Like I told you before, double standards. I can guarantee you that if Sasuke would, in any way, try to touch Naruto Sakura wouldn't stand and watch it.
When it comes to Naruto she has a fierce determination that's unbreakable. Only when it comes to her and Sasuke she gets all emotional. That's an obstacle she has to surpass.
So, yes, her confession was true. Whether people like it or not. If it would've been speculation on our side, it would be debatable, but when the author himself states it, there's no turning back.
However, as I showed you, my statements are based more on the story-wise situation, not on what Kishi said. That it happens for both to share the same belief, well, what can I say? Lucky me, lol. :)
So yes, the confession was true!

narusaku's love is clearly there , i cant believe i was so blind .

You know this second hand sarcasm isn't going to help you, right?

@chatte
there is no bandwagon affect on Sakura being abusive. i mean she beat naruto so bad he needed to be healed by medical units. >_< not to mention how she strangles him on a daily basis, and pucnhes him leaving him lying in his own blood.
-
i said i wouldn't argue against the pairing. but i will argue when people deny the manga :eww:
-
what do you think of sakura still loving sasuke from the last moment we have seen her? i mean that must've meant something to you. how do you explain that.

Uhm sorry, yes it is. As for him getting beat like that in the manga? Uhm, no, never happened.
Watch out on the perception you get from the manga and the perception you get from Studio Pierrot.
Two different Sakuras.
Her thinking about Sasuke? Pfft, I explained that already countless times. It is only normal to think about Sasuke given her resolution with Sasuke isn't closed yet. If you took notice, it's like we have 2 Sakuras in 539 and 540.
She makes her tell that guy that "there's someone else who..." Who what? I love? I confessed? I am comited? Specifically left out.
And then, with that "he must be a great guy" she thinks about Sasuke. That served as a red-herring for NS and also, Kishi is showing us that Sakura takes notice of who Sasuke really is, not her idealistic crush from when she was twelve and she has that expression like she's ashamed to have ever loved such a guy.
In 539 we have a Sakura that would make you think about Naruto and in 540 we have a Sakura that is thinking about Sasuke. Drama tension, of course.
Don't forget that the Team 7 love triangle still has to be resolved and the joker there is Sakura. That's why Kishi still plays with her and shows her either with Naruto either with Sasuke in different situations. Has to keep the drama on. :)

@ Chatte- I honestly think that most of the devolpment everyone says for NaruSaku is mostly just friends. I have yet to see a true development that shows either of them loves each other. There hasnt been anything to show that Sakura loves Naruto in a romantic way ever and there hasnt been any real signs that Naruto loves Sakura in a romantic way in a long time.

Just about all of the development is just becoming great friends who rely on each other, not in a romantic way.

Well, it's mostly. However, there are situations where that borderline is long passed. It goes to deeper meanings like selfless love for one another, deep care so on and so forth.
And once again, may I remind you, Kishi has shown them being physically attracted to one another. That crosses the border of 'just friends'. Thei development is gradual containing subtle hints here and there, that's why things like these are easily left out. :)
As for Naruto. Well, we know that ever since he got kicked. He did that out of love for Sakura, that's why Sai went to tell Sakura that. That even HE can tell that he loves her. In manga timeline, that's about a week or two.
You know what makes our perception going wrong? Reading it chapter by chapter. Try volume by volume and you'll see how fresh the events are going to seem to you. :)
You could go more in showing how Sakura's perception of Naruto has changed. Right now it could go either way, because the two of them have the most screen time, but Kishi does love twists.

Well, if this thread is still up and running, I will do it. :)

Well, nothing is cannon until is cannon, right? :p
And of course I do hold an open mind about it. I'll still love and ship NaruSaku even if it doesn't become cannon, so to say, however, I am sure that it will.

Now if you'll excuse me, be back a bit later. Have some things to do. ^^

you have to understand most of the people like me watch the anime. i read the manga from occasion mostly to debate battles. (naruto vs sasuke, what is genjutsu, and mianly reading in betwee the lines>_<) and in the anime sakura is constanlty hitting abusing hurting naruto. It happens in the manga as well and she did leave naruto lying in a pool of his own blood in the manga back in part 1. furthermore you think in 539 sakura was talkign about naruto but then she was talkign about sasuke? how does that makes sense?
-
i am sorry i can't accept this letter because i love someone else.
the man, "he sounds like a great guy"
Sakura(thinks about sasuke)
-
it is pretty clear to me.
-
neither is it a red herring, it would be a red herring if she just paused and didn't show sasuke. that would be a big tease, but we don't get that we get 100% confirmation that sakura still loves sasuke.
-
Furthermore i wouldn't call naruto holding hands (in japan that means to accept love, which hinata confessed in 437 and now we finnaly see him accepting it) a red herring either. if he breifly tapped her hand like neji or the rest it would be a red herring, but to do a complete acceptance and to acknowledge her feelings is showing that Naruto has feelings for shy little hinata. lol
-
its just when i look at how sakura loves sasuke. i can see it, its clear, when sasuke left the village, you saw her full heartedly loving him and we continue to see it all through out the series. her love for him is strong.
-
tbh sakura lovign sasuke is the only 100% thing we have in the series. besides hinata loving naruto that is. we see both girls openly with all thier hearts and in hinata's case her own life on the line to show thier feelings for the men they love.
-
everyhting else is wide open to be debated.

Yamato isn't referring to feelings of friendship or comradery, he's about to acknowledge sakura's hidden love for naruto, love that started developing the second he promised to bring sasuke back.

Naruto being constantly hit and abused by Sakura? Nah, its not the case in manga. When it comes to canon, Sakura hit Naruto 3 or 4 times.

That's true. I feel like kishi had soooo many ideas and started them all off, but one by one pruned the branches of his story down and ran out of time to follow some of them through.

sorry about that. >_<

i had a feeling taht Sakura was going to become the greatest kunoichi of all time at that point. we saw her fighting, showing massive skills. but then it all dissapeared. We then see her lose to bee's apprentice, who wasn't even focused on her, and then if naruto hadn't internvened was about to be soloed by a single zetus.
-
that is one of the reasons why i joined the AASU, because Sakura had so much potential, I often wonder what she would've been like if Kishi kept building ehr up form that point.
-
do you think that she would've been in the top 10-20?

Their chemistry, their mutual understanding, their history and the countless adventures they've shared together U_U
The fact that naruto has always loved her...and just that their couple would be a whole lot cuter! Naruhina is a bit...boring as i'd like to call it...Ialso the foreshadowing has been done many a times...seeing as how have observed parallels btw minakushiand narusaku.

Also...for me the basis of a successful relation is ALWAYS friendship =D

i really like how you described that. i have to admit you are right. well its either that or i like the word journeys. lol but just the way you described it, you made it sound like the two were off on a grand adventure, and that implies heartache and struggles and joy, which in the manga it is all present.
-

Well, then, you have to understand we're discussing manga facts that are cannon by Kishi, not what the anime team comes up with. In the manga it happens like 3 or four times over the time skip. And everytime she hits him, he has done something bad. But in a comedic way. You're forgetting Naruto can be a big goof and quite disrespectful and needs someone to keep him in check. Pool of blood? Excuse me? Manga proof if I do not ask for much? I can't remember that. Be careful not to mistreat her with the redhead chick from Kumo. Now that is a serious thing, not what Sakura does. It's like Kishi did it especially to show people what's the difference between comedic relief and an actual kicking.

furthermore you think in 539 sakura was talkign about naruto but then she was talkign about sasuke? how does that makes sense?

Yes. How? Simply. Because of the unfinished speech and Sakura's joyful face. Whereas in 540 she was all sad.

-
i am sorry i can't accept this letter because i love someone else.
the man, "he sounds like a great guy"
Sakura(thinks about sasuke)
-
it is pretty clear to me.

Where does it say she loves someone else? It's "I'm sorry, there's someone else..." left intentionally out. Why do you think?
Now if you prefer to think this way, sure, it's your thing. I only offered my insight.
-
neither is it a red herring, it would be a red herring if she just paused and didn't show sasuke. that would be a big tease, but we don't get that we get 100% confirmation that sakura still loves sasuke.

Well, there, you have the difference. The red herring is a different concept from teasing. Red herring misleads you, teasing...well, it just teases you. Different.

-
Furthermore i wouldn't call naruto holding hands (in japan that means to accept love, which hinata confessed in 437 and now we finnaly see him accepting it) a red herring either. if he breifly tapped her hand like neji or the rest it would be a red herring, but to do a complete acceptance and to acknowledge her feelings is showing that Naruto has feelings for shy little hinata. lol

The old hand holding thing...See? Example of red herring. He took her hand to transfer her chakra. I know most of you will ignore it but whatever makes you happy. I told people the same thing when 615 came out. No one listened everybody was like NaruHina, NaruHina omg omg and when 616 came, everybody went of flames "OMFG Kishi, you bastards you made Naruto hold hands with everyone! Wtf is this shit?!" Excuse my language please.
And I told them the same thing. Don't say I didn't tell you so. Later Naruto held hands with everyone else... So, sorry, I know what it means in Japan, but do read the context. Not to mention it didn't show any romantic pov from Naruto. Just Hinata. Hinata doesn't equal NaruHina. While, yes, it was a mutual moment, it was a friends mutual moment.
And if you give me the hand holding, I give you the hug which had romantic implications and the context overall was screaming romantic. There were tons of villagers blushing at the scene. Kishi made it romantic. Now of course, like always, I am prepared for people to brush it off because, hey, it's NaruSaku.
So you'd better read it right if you don't want to have the same reaction as the other, after 616.
Even NaruHina fans admitted that. But the ok ones. Rare people.

-
its just when i look at how sakura loves sasuke. i can see it, its clear, when sasuke left the village, you saw her full heartedly loving him and we continue to see it all through out the series. her love for him is strong.

Explained already, not going to repeat myself, sorry.

everyhting else is wide open to be debated.

Well, when you love someone that much like you say, you don't try to kill them, do you? And throwing your life doesn't necessarily mean loving that person. Once again, be careful at the context.
Anyway, do feel free to think however you please. But when NS will be cannon, don't say I didn't told you so. :)

Chatte... Kishi took the effort to give them a whole cover. No chakra around them at all. Do you really think lazy old Kishimoto would do that for no reason? I mean, that guy may be a troll but it really does appear as though he's picked a direction. Trolling wouldn't even be the word at this point.

And there is no ambiguity with what Sakura said in 540. The question is easy, in every single translation. "He must be a great guy, if YOU'RE in love with him" Sakura then, the very next panel, proceeds to think of Sasuke. Sadness or not, there is absolutely zero shift in panelling, no thought whatsoever. She loves Sasuke, and any interpretation otherwise seems rather foolish to me.

Before chapter 437, Naruhina was a pipe dream. But now... I don't even think Kishimoto with all his trolling might can change things.

the difference between the holding hands and the hug sakura gave naruto was. Naruto never returned Sakura's hug. naruto and hinata held hands.
-
not to mention the cover for volume 64 confirms it wasn't just for transfering chakra, plus he didn't hold hands with everyone, he high-fived, tapped, flicked the other members.
-
again if naruto had held sakura's hand all narusaku fans would be shouting narusaku cannon.
-
as for the leaving naruto in a pool of his own blood.

pay attention to naruto's blood and the broken gate and the gang wondering if naruto is even alive.
-
but anyway i wanted to keep other pairing out of this. i just used sakura's confession to sasuke as a reference because i could see/feel/hear sakura pain, and her love for sasuke. her not being able to kill sasuke because she still loved him, and how she turned down the other man for sasuke.
-
Sakura lovign sasuke i find really cute. I love the theme of unconditional love, which is one of the reasons i support naruhina, beucase hinata loves naruto for who he is mistakes and all. Mind you i don't care really about sasusaku or sasukarin. Karin and sakura are 100% identical in every aspect so i don't care.
-
sasunaru i don't care about that much (but i don't see it being very probable) i think they would be cute, for my number 3 choice.
-
narusaku (my personal opinion here so no flaming) besides Yamato talking to sakura, i have never seen any evidence for narusaku. I joined the base and i found out there were narusaku fans and i thought it was mianly either number 1 or number 3 or my above choices, but then i heard about you and baguete, and how there are people who actaully think number 2. very simply you all aroused my curiousity.
-
so thank you for sharing your opinion. lol =D

@Chatte- Hehe, you really know all about NaruSaku dont you. I can see your one of the biggest NaruSaku shippers. (Not being mean, just saying =D)

While its obvious that Naruto and Sakura love each other and care for each other tremendously, I still view their relationship mainly as friends. While their may be a few instances where it shows them caring for one another romantically, its not enough to easily say that either of them loves each other. I think that Naruto cares deeply for Sakura and he wants her to be happy, but I'm not sure that its in a romantic way. In the beginning of the magna, Naruto shows alot of puppy love towards Sakura, but I think he eventually got over that. When both Naruto and Sasuke are in the hospital and Sakura runs in and immediately hugs Sasuke, that is the moment when Naruto realizes that Sakura loves Sasuke. He doesnt stop caring for her at that point, but he realizes that she loves Sasuke.

Even now, Sakura still loves Sasuke. That much is proven just recently during the War Arc. I know whats your rebuttal is but I think that it obviously shows that she loves Sasuke in a romantic way. Even after he tried to kill him and even after she kinda tried to kill him, she loves him. I honestly dont know why she loves him but she does. When that random Ninja is talking to her about who she likes, and her face appears happy, its hard to know what she is thinking of in that instance. She could be thinking about a few possible things there. But after he talks about who Sakura Loves, her mind immediately goes to Sasuke. While we may guess what Sakura was thinking about when she says that she loves someone else, we know Who she thought about after they finished talking about love. And that is Sasuke.

At this moment, if NaruSaku is going to happen, I need to see some serious development about Sakura learning to love Naruto in a romantic way. It would be a shame if Sakura just learned to love Naruto and forget about Sasuke all of a sudden. While she may have some romantic feelings for Naruto, she loves Sasuke alot more romaintcally and I would hate if she all of a sudden got over that.

Now after saying all that, I honestly think the biggest telling that NaruSaku may happen is in the Parallells in the NaruSaku and MinaKusi.

Hehe, My opinion. Hope you Like It =D
