All the fuss about knowing 1000 jutsus

Ok, we all know I'm talking about Kakashi and Hiruzen here since they're the only ones who are noted for having known a lot of jutsus. Seriously guys, I don't get the point of knowing 1000+ elemental ninjutsus (I'm assuming they're nature manipulation jutsus since you can't copy kekei genkais and stuff) maybe they copied a few taujutsus techniques too but psssh like that really matters, I bet neither both of them could copy Gai's high level taijutsus techs. What I'm trying to say is that, these people were mostly given credit for knowing a lot of jutsus, which I think is kinda cool sometimes but I think it's how you use a tech that really matters right? I'll use Shinra Tensei and come at me with your 1000 jutsus. What do you guys think?

And kakashi has 1000+, hiruzen has like 2000+

Omg, Im soo with you on that statement, thats all NAruto does is Spam different varriations of the Rasengan, he kills the final boss in every movie with some type of it !!

Someone uses a suiton, you counter with doton

Somone uses doton you counter with raiton

Someone uses katon you counter with suiton. etc...

Having such a variety of jutsu enables you to have counters to just about everything a ninja can think of, while you have more than enough capabilities to defeat them

It certainly gives them an advantage. But if you talking about mass destructive jutsus like tbb or madaras meteor you just run instead of thinking which of the 1000 jutsus to use

It means you have the ABILITY to learn these techniqes and you have 1000+ Jutsu 9/10 times the ninja is going to be OVERFLOWING with chakra to use them with .U_U
