But that doesn't really matter when there are characters like Shisui, Obito, Sasuke and even Itachi who are basically handed the MS. (Granted we don't know shisui's story, and sasuke did believe he was in danger and wasn't supposed to find out itachi's motives, but the point remains.)

Well, it was never mentioned about how Shisui obtained the MS, but it was very hard on the others. Obito had to watch his teammate kill the girl he loved, Itachi helped his best friend commit suicide, and Sasuke had to kill his brother and later find out the truth about him.

Okay I get where you're going. The sharingan and rinnegan of course have multiple abilities that are basically not even possible just with a work of an "eye" in real life. But the reason why they have those abilities is because of Rikudo. Even though it's not fair that just by unlocking or taking the eye techniques you get an infinite amount of power out of nowhere. It's sad just that you were born with or able to unlock the eye or take it etc, you are then like a god with powers. And that really does ruin the story because you just need to be with something to be the best. Like Naruto having the Kyuubi. We all know that what makes him a good ninja, not the rasengan.
And also you forgot to put in the chakra nature. That is also a cheat

Btw shouldn't the Sharingan stick to it's actual meaning which was mirroring moves cause it is called the mirroring-eye. Like the byakugan mean white-eye cause the color of it is white.

I lump the eye techniques with Senju DNA...

They were used at first to answer a few questions and add to the power scales a bit. But now they are the answers to everything and the power scales are out of whack.

How many broken techniques we have so far?

Amaterasu - If you can't dodge, peace out!
Tsukuyomi - You're screwed
Susanoo - ... Beyond screwed
Kamui - Seriously, kishi? Unless you somehow have the other eye you are screwed. Even if you do have Obito's second eye, you're probably screwed.

Rinne Tensei - SOOO BROKEN
Shinra tensei - I like this one, not too broken considering there is a time interval
Chibaku tensei - Kind of broken, but whatever
The other techs are ok.

Not true.
1. Raikage was hit by amaterasu and lived.
2. Sasuke broke out of Itachi's tsukuyomi.
3. Hashirama beat Madara's imperfect sus'anoo.
4. Kakashi was unable to defeat Deidara with kamui.

I think it only works when the Uchiha kills someone very close to them. Otherwise, a lot more Uchiha swould have got them from wars in the past. I always thought that Obito got it since Kakashi killed Rin and their eyes are conected. You do make a good point though. What about the shinobi who were forced to kill their friends for the mission?

Good stuff, too much power brings greed and enemies that´s why the uchiha became almost extinct and rinnegan is as rare as a diamond, we dont know how big the naruto universe is there might be more shit to be shown but i dont think thats the case.

I to get mad with all this eye bull crap, Take away the eye's and what do you get?
People should like more characters that doesn't need those cheats.
Personally it gets annoying with all the eye transplants and eye jutsu's that it pisses me off. The very least make them have some type of weakness, Instead Kishi just makes those Jutsu's look to damn powerful. The anime shouldn't rely on god damn eyes or power levels. It should rely on characters who develop better physically and skills wise. Not just get a Sharingan or Rinnegan and be granted powerful because of it.

I agree so much with this thread. I suppose the insane power-spikes are a result of the genre Naruto exists in. Given its success, I would be surprised if Kishimoto really makes all the story decisions for Naruto, even in the manga. If he does, all the more power to him, but I really wish he had sprinkled on the crazy power sprinkles more sparingly.

I won't stop reading Naruto because of it, but I won't be able to forget its flaws, either.

I respectfully disagree. I believe the manga went to hell because of the Bijuu powers. Kishimoto added this concept of power tiers on bipolar fronts. The manga's main character holds the strongest tailed beast if you take out the Juubi from the equation. Had the author put fetters on this 'Jinchuriki' thing, this manga would not have been so distasteful now.

The Jinchurikis have been powered up to ridiculous proportions hence the constant need to power up the Sharinga, which outside Sussano'o usage is the best conceived idea since sliced bread. It incorporates so much from the mythos that it's a treat to watch. I also think Izanagai and Izanami were unneeded, but then again, this whole Jin business is to blame, not the Sharingan.
