I always felt that he left the hyuga undeveloped because of how haxed their powers would have been if he had kept powering them up . I mean, the Byakugan gives full control over one's chakra; meaning A+ chakra control. With this, it is not a stretch to say they could theoretically learn any jutsu at all.
But seriously, the hyuga have been dumbed down. Just imagine how easy it would have been if Neji or Hinata fought sasori, kakuzu, or pain. They would tell tight away their bodies aren't normal.
Plus, fights would end very fast; a few pokes here and there and they lose

I agree. This could also explained why Team Gai didn't show up during the Pain Invasion or whenever something big happened during the mission, Team Gai was never there as if Kishi was hinting that they're the strongest Team squad of Konoha11 but I dunno anymore cause neji got fodderized in the war while Lee and Gai is getting proper development and Tenten is getting all her hypes when she picks up the SO6P tools which we would probably finally see her roles after we've seen her impressive after knocking out Kakuza Hearts with Banana Fans

So well last night I couldn't sleep and I was thinking about the byakugan well what if the sage sons which had power married an uchiha
