This is merely a suggestion which I think could benefit the community and all. Is there any possibility in increasing the file size limit for albums? I know that it's not really needed since it's only used for pictures and whatnot, but there are people who love to create astounding profiles, such as myself, who really do need the larger file size so that any backgrounds and such don't get a drop in quality, simply because it's over the limit.

What I'm trying to say is that with more and more elaborate designs would require more size in terms of the file. What I propose is that maybe the file size is increased to at least 1MB for every image? 512KB is very small nowadays, and you can't really do much with a file size that small without getting a quality drop.

Well, I don't know if it's a rule but I've noticed that the total pictures that I upload should be within the limits of 512 KB
BUT I've seen that when I've my Cyan Colored Username, I'm allowed to upload a maximum of 60 pictures in 1 album as long as each pictures is within the range of 512 KB. Hence I'm able to keep some of my albums without being forced to delete them.
Last month, when my Cyan name expired, I was barely able to create more than 2 albums which is again no more the case now. I definitely won't mind to have an extension of file size (I think admins and perhaps S-mods have no limitations).

use a image hosting site other than NB and move on....
WORD!

That's how it should be done anyways. Web hosting costs money, and the more space you use the more it costs. For a free site/forum being able to upload any pictures at all is great, so please don't complain.

You don't seem to see the point I'm trying to make here. For those people who like to use fancy profile backgrounds you have to take them directly from your album. You can't just simply use an image hosting site and set it as your profile background. If it was a tag or avatar then fine, but it isn't.

While this is true in a sense, you have to remember that this is a vBulletin forum. You only need to pay a monthly fee or whatever to keep the license to it. Anything added comes from free plug-ins and will only put some strain on the server. This server seems to be pretty strong also, so I don't exactly see the harm in it.

I guess I never realized that the BG images had to come directly from your albums.

And web hosting fees still apply... size = money

That all depends really, as vBulletin could have packages in a sense. So the 512kb upload quota could be in a low package, but upgrading to a higher package with a higer upload quota would result in more money. If it's just some sort of plug-in, or anything pseudo for tha matter, it would be just a little more strain on the server, which imo wouldn't even be that bad.
