Can you get down without hurting yourself, or am I gonna have to come up there to get you?
Nothing. Just thought I saw someone in the bushes. >_> Now then let's continue. *We now travel to a very large and wide lake.* Remember when Jiraiya-san trained Naruto for the first time? He taught him how to walk on water and the toad summoning. Like I told you earlier, I can't teach you the toad summon, but I can teach you how to walk on water. *smiles*Kaeru:
*Jumps down on some branches before he jumps to the ground*
What were you saying? *Smiles*

This is like the tree exercise, except for the fact that instead of climbing (walking) on something solid like a tree (or the ground), you'll be walking on something liquid and non-uniform in shape at all times when acted upon. A small science lesson there for you, boy, lol. Like the tree exercise, you must find the right amount of chakra to keep balance on the water. Too much or too little, and you will fall in. Understood?
He is, just practicing a bit of chakra control. Try it again Kaeru.
You have to keep focusing chakra the entire time you're on the water, sometimes the water will be deep and at other places it will be shallow. It requires complete focus and concentration throughout the entire time you are on the water. Sometimes you will have to focus much chakra, and sometimes you will have to focus little chakra. Find the balance between the two, and you won't fall in no matter what depth or density the water is.
Now then, find the balance for the shallow and deep parts of the lake, and then you will have mastered this tech.
Now that you've measured the amount of chakra you need for both parts of the lake, find a balance between the two, and you will get across the lake without a hitch.
Yep, now continue across until you cross the entire lake.Kaeru:
Yes!
*Jumps to the shallow end of the lake and is walking across the lake*
Ok...Focus....Focus...
*Walks across the shallow and deep part*
Did I do it?
