yeah i never heard of it before when i want to Chicago to vist my sister her boyfriend was telling me how he used to watch anime when he was little he told me to watch the move metropolis and then he told me to watch akira he said it was the best anime movie ever so i watched it and now it's my favorite anime movie ever

from the first time i've heard of it, it hasn't seized to come up at some point or another in discussion about anime. what could even label it the "grandfather" anime due to it being legendary. its kinda like a zapdos or some shit, countless ppl haven't seen it, but everyone knows of it lolol *pokemon reference*

well said, i second that. anime isn't made in such a manner anymore. it was gritty, and disturbing and real. from the neurological narcotics to the highway rape, the test subject children and biker gangs. its alll truly amazing. if you have time, look up the manga. it shows what goes down after akira's arrival. if you thought the movie was crazy, im sure you'll love that.
