akatsuki status (zetsu theory)

1st set Pein, konan, orochimaru, sasori, itachi, kisame, hidan, kakuzu, zetsu


2nd set Pein, konan, deidara, sasori, itachi, kisame, hidan, kakuzu, zetsu


3rd set Pein, konan, deidara, tobi/madara, itachi, kisame, hidan, kakuzu, zetsu


These are the 3 sets of akatsuki status that we know of when a member dies or leaves, theres a lot of talk about how zetsu is only a spy, yet akatsuki states each akatsuki member will have a bijuu to capture, and only 9 akatsuki members are ever hired at any one time, meaning zetsu must have to capture one of them, therefore he must be able to fight.

I was also under the impression pein was sharing out the bijuu depending on what one was caught...again meaning zetsu must fight if he can control a bijuu.

I think hes a great spy as he is but i reckon we'll be seeing him fighting later on, and i think he'll be a lot tougher than one might first expect.

so i'll assume madara was there since the beginning, just no1 knew he was there..

which tailed beasts we haven't seen get caught ?

we all know that 9tailed is itachi's ( it was stated before )
and we know that 1 tailed was deidaras. ( since sasori said he still didn't found his tailed beasts which automaticly means shukaku was deidaras )
and now that sasuke went for the 8th tailed, it is his one.
naruto was ment for itachi but now that itachi died it is either tobi's or pein's.
2tailed was hidan's or kakuzu's
3tailed was tobi's if im not mistakin
4tailed was kisame's
havent seen 5th,6th and 7th or just can't remember..
just divide those one amongst the other ones.

I dunno it just appears to be a member of akatsuki you need to be of excellent fighting skill.

Orochimaru could sink into trees just like zetsu, as seen at the very beginning of naruto in the chuunin exam, zetsu is a great spy, but at the same time so can loads of other ninjas...

I just hope he has fight in him thats all haha

hmm interesting...especially considering the rinnegan is meant to be the strongest doujutsu ever, a tool from the gods, and the fact that he is efficient in all elements and ninjutsu techniques.

And then we have to remember madara didnt dare go against itachis threats, meaning madara considered itachi at least equal, meaning pein has slipped to number 3 in akatsuki already, as if madara is leader, and itachi was equal or stronger....


I want to see that chapter though....any rough idea wherebouts it is?

when madara was explaining to sasuke about itachi he said itachi was the only one who noticed him hiding in the forests of konoha, and knew madara wanted to take over konoha.

Itachi threatened to kill him if he attacked konoha, and joined akatsuki as simply to keep tabs on madara, this is what madara says anyway.

As madara took itachi seriously it means madara considers him equal in skill/power or that itachi is stronger.

Therefore making pein 3rd strongest in akatsuki.

Just seems a little off.

Madara wants konoha totalled....He planned itachis death through sasuke, he wanted itachi dead because he knew itachi would make things difficult, therefore he considered him equal or stronger.

Well, personally, I think Pein never intended to share the Bijuu, as he also knew that many of the Akatsuki members were expendable [Diadara, Hidan, Kakuzu, ect.]
I think Zetsu knew this, and only made himself useful so he wouldn't be sent on a suicide mission (Capturing a Bijuu that he couldn't defeat) [He made himself useful by being a extremely effective spy.]
I think that, obviously, if he's ranked as an S-Rank ninja, then of course he must have some kind of combat ability, but I think that out of all the Akatsuki, he had the least combat ability and he probably couldn't capture a Bijuu without some serious help.
And also, Orochimaru could sink into trees and camouflage himself, but it's become obvious to me that he can become totally invisible and un-noticeable.
When he goes into camo, no one can see him as he has shown multiple times [Sasuke V.S Itachi]
Also, Orochimaru couldn't dispose of bodies or go from place to place in the matter of seconds.
So, in essence, what I'm trying to say is that Zetsu is almost a perfect spy, which is invaluable to Akatsuki, but as far as combat goes, he would pale in comparison to some of the stronger characters in Naruto.

Hidan just relied on his freaky bloodlimit, he sucked at fighting, he even admitted his attacks are slow and unskillfull, he just needs one hit though and hes got them screwed.

I can see zetsu living longer than any akatsuki member and even escaping totally, it appears youre right, he is untracable...Most ninjas feel other ninjas presence, it appears zetsu is "one with nature" and as thus is impossible or extremely hard to detect even if hes right next to you-which certainly is a very nice skill LOL.

Yea, I mean, Itachi's Sharingan didn't even notice him! [Then again, maybe he did, and just didn't say anything??]
But this makes me wonder how Madara and Pein are able to see him...?

i think zetsu has a bloodlimit to do that. the other way is that he was a orochimaru's experiment.

It would be nice to see how zetsu became the way he is, with 2 sides/personalities, and a big plant on his head, which might help iwith the whole going into the ground thing. I tjink he is strong though, stronger than most of the members of akatsuki anyway.

What's interesting is that zetsu doesn't have/had any teammates so one can assume that he might be considered 2 people because of his 2 sides. This is of course just a theory.

Itachi wouldnt want other akatsuki meddling, he mustve known zetsu was high up...

Maybe madara and pein only notice him once hes outside his "spy mode".

Thats why i reckon zetsu might escape everyone and just stay a missing nin...

I think the idea of him being 2 people works well too, maybe he can split? who knows, cant wait to see him fighting though

Thats an interesting theory, that he can split in 2 halves, i'm not too sure though. We know that he has 2 different personalities, one for each side of him. Isn't the dark side of him cannibal?

Madara taught Deidra how to counter the sharringan with one eye, specifically to kill Sasuke. Because he knew Itachi was sick and didn't have the strength to protect Sasuke anymore, and Sasuke killed Orochimaru, his protector of sorts. Deidra was dead either way once he entered the fight against Sasuke, either by him, or by Itachi/Naruto/Sakura... maybe even Kikashi...
