Sakura could definitely join Akatsuki for her abilities - medic ninja are always appreciated.
Still, she is too pure for Akatsuki, given that she never killed anyone.
I am guessing Obito, or Nagato, but most likely Konan, would ask of her some proof of loyalty, such as bring head of someone close to her, something she couldn't really do.

If Sakura joined the akatsuki her morals would be off,
She would easily not hold back with her strength.
She would probably take Samehada from Kitsame to further increase her byakugou seals development.
She would use poisons relentlessly, like sHizune doesn in the form of mist, the databook states that she learn all of shizuen techniques.
She would have Sage mode of the slugs, because she would want more power.
And probably used Katsuyu as a vemon like subtance, from spiderman, and have her take over people, starting her army.
Evil Sakura is too smart to be takened lightly, and unlike kabuto, her power on its own is already too powerful and her chakra control opens up too much potential for her to be Pein's worker

I also think Pain would be useless to her plans since she wouldn't need the gedo mazou. She would just extract the bijuu chakra into her forehead seal.
I'm a big Itachi fan but I think Sakura is his ultimate counter.
-She's immune to all genjutsu
-She can break through any defense with shannaroo. Yata is just a big mirror, a really big chakra-enchanced punch destroys it.
-She can tank totsuka and break out of the seal with willpower (like Ino's jutsu)
Itachi would just get tired and give up.
